A helicopter has hit a tower crane in Vauxhall on Wandsworth Road. Expect roads to be closed.
An Augusta 109 clipped a crane on top of the new US embassy building and nosed straight into the traffic and buildings below.
Sad.
Note from LAA:

London’s Air Ambulance
Helicopter crash in London is not our helicopter. Our medical team are in attendance at the incident. Our thoughts are with everyone involved.
bloody hell! Did you see the bike lying on its side near the accident. I hope the rider escaped!
That’s horrible.
Thoughts are with those involved.
Very scary and tragic.
your footage is better than what the bbc has, typical shaky cam

I can see some bikes there on the road. Hopefully no major injuries…
just to let you guys no i wasn’t on that crane .
You understand, that’s not me that has filmed it…
Also, I think a lot of the BBC’s footage is from Joe Public, nearby when it happened.
For there to be only 2 dead, we should perhaps be thankful? (Sounds wrong after such a disaster, but you know what I mean)
2 dead seems as low as you could hope for - there’s at least a pilot and presumably a crane driver.
Hope it proves to be that low.
Waas no crane driver in on the crane at the time , very lucky indeed if the pilot would have hit below the cab an not the jib their would have been a good 100 ton coming out of the sky .
Well that’s a relief, you’re the first person we thought of, glad you posted.
Very sorry for those not so lucky.
yes, i thought that too, and he’s fine also the guys at the OMC are fine.
on top of the new US embassy…this is going to get very conspiracy indeed!
My thoughts are with the families of those dead. 2 dead, 11 injured and one critical so far.
That’s the road I take every morning to get to work, I realised something was fishy when I left home, traffic everywhere.
I’m in the same boat. There’s a helicopter on my standard route to college and a chunk of crane on my backup route.
Charlie detour round it via mine. Looking on my window there is barely any traffic via this area.
This is truly a horrible event. I wish all parties involved safe and easy job when dealing with the matter.
To the families of the injured and deceased, my thoughts are with them.
