Heavy Clutch - Fireblade '96

Has anyone had any experience with a Fireblade Clutch?? Mine seems to be super heavy, as in beyond the limit of riding!!

I have checked the plates - OK and checked the springs - OK (genuine Honda)!

One thing I did notice is that the ‘fingers’ that hold the springs on the plate basket have some groves in them. In theory if the springs are rubbing against them when the clutch is pressed that would cause a heavier clutch…but I wanted to ask before I go replacing the basket!

The clutch on my 97 bl*de was so heavy, changed the cable made it a bit better for a while, fitted a Moose Raptor ezee clutch lever from the States, now I can use 1 finger

What bike did you get it for dude, as there is no application for the CBR!

Got it for the bl*de, they fit on any handle bar  if you want one go on Ebay in the states, or msracing.com and have it posted

The one I’ve got has ‘Tucker Rocky msr pro kit shorty blk’ on the packaging

start using your left hand

Mine felt crap on my '92 blade when i bought it. A brand new well lubed Honda original cable sorted it.

Are you saying I used a cheap pattern part  I got it from chiswick h*nda ;):stuck_out_tongue:

Absolutely not Terry. I can’t comment on your bike. You wanted a fancy stunt lever anyway, didn’t you!?

Mine sat for a day with oil running through it before I fitted it though, and I reckon that made a big difference. The clutch action feels slick now though … “Said the actress to the bishop!”

Finally pulled my finger out… do you think that this one would work?
