I have the sony clip on ear type but, they do hurt after riding for a while, would love to fin some one that does the custom, mould in ear type, but I have other priorities at the mo…
SINGING LESSONS!!!..make your own music…safer too
Tried the IPod ones with an Arai and the bar bit below the ‘bud’ dug in after a while so the search continues.
Koss “The Plug”
Me and Nick both use em and they are fab. Cost about a fiver plus delivery on Amazon (new and used bit). Note there is also a spark plug one too but we thought the plug ones looked better. Shop around there’s loads of em on the net.
They have a foam bud that fits in your ear you insert it like you do ear plugs, it can be a bit fiddly but stays once you get it right. I have only got ickle ears but they still go in. With the helmet on it feels just like you have ear plugs in except you can hear yer music and you dont have to have yer MP3 up full blast! They also have a no quibbles lifetime guarantee.
I did a lot of looking around on line before I got these and then kinda figured that for the price it was worth giving em a shot.
There’s laods of reviews around about them if you look and a lot from bikers too.
Would have to disagree koss ones are quite painful when removing the lid…i thing soney in ear ones fir the best although are dear…
Im using bluetooth headphones at the moment…brillaint as they are wireless!!!
I have never tried riding listening to music. I reckon it would distract me and break my concentration.
Well I have the solution good people!
I use these every day with my iPod into work and on the motorways they are fantastic. Just like ear plugs with a variety of attachments to suit every ear shape (And man are mine weird!). They are costly but to be honest it you are using them every day then these are the kiddies. I resented the cost at first but they are the best investment I have made for music on the bike:
They are the 6i-Isolator headphones. Good prices at Amazon:

Never hurt me
it does…!
they probably are great but $149…er…
I find my riding style changes according to what I am listening to. Faithless is good for twisties
WHICH CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS…
Motorhead whilst filtering past the local school at 3pm…scary…
Eeek!
I sing so loud that I get funny looks off people when I pull up at traffic lights
well if they dont see ya…they will hear ya babe…LOL
i thought about making my own…
remember when you took ur bike test and they had them inserts for the radio’s?..just a pair of headphones with some cloth stitched over it…then just slid the puppys up and walla!!!
gotta try making a pair after ive made my very own tail tidy…which is almost finished i might add…
thinky smiled:.
Nothing wrong with a bit of Motorhead!
Ultimate ear, friends got the ones that are made to fit the ear.
Well a (good) few years ago I was speeding down Slone Street in London thinking that the traffic was really getting out the way. The new race can I had purchased for my FZr600R Foxeye was really paying dividens. I was up to 65mph off the lights and cars were pulling over like Moses walking accross the red sea.
Then I happened to look in the mirror and notice the AMBULANCE right up my chuff!!!
As a bizar twist to the storey 2 week later I managed to get my Knee/Suit trousers/helmet down going round Slone square and the same AMBULANCE crew recognised me.
Death metal on my DVD player had a new meaning after that! TWATS!
excuse me, did i read that right, are you saying ambulance men are ‘TWATS’…???
if this is so, i hope they recognise you again when your lying in the road and they leave you there
if this is not so…please type more intelligently…thank you
