Have you seen this bike?

So, this is my old bike, I spent a while building it and then stupidly sold it because I wanted a faster bike.
Im really missing it, iv done everything I can to find it.
Iv got constant alerts on ebay etc but I haven’t seen it.
Its still being used (I assume) as its still showing as Insured on ASKMID.COM

I really want it back! or at the very least i want to know what its doing, what it looks like…
Its an FZR400 1wg Genesis, R6 rear end…
I sold it to a young bloke in brighton on 13 May 2012

This is what she looked like when I sold her.

Thanks!

:crying:

i bought it and stripped it for parts

I guess Its easier to sell parts than a ‘Working bike’ ey? :Whistling:

Not really is harder as working bikes can just be sold where stripping bikes takes a while as you know…

Have you not got any old paperwork for it maybe check online if have right info about MOT info might give you a clue where it is now…

Iv got NO papers/parts or anything other than photos :frowning:

Surely there most be a way you can trace it…: maybe DVLA?
Heard of people tracing old bikes and that just don’t know how they done it…
Be interested to find out
As have wondered the same about my old blackbird

Why don’t you go through the DVLA?

https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla

I’m not sure how much they charge you for the privilege (it was around £3 a couple of years ago when I had to do it), but if you really, really, really want to find your lost love, I’m sure a few quid will be worth it.

I did think about that, i assumed it would be an application for insurers/solicitors etc.
Surely the DVLA wouldnt willingly give out info of vehicle owners for £3.

Well its insured but on SORN if that helps, I suppose that means it is still in one piece?

They did for me. I can’t remember exactly how much they charged, but it was a small amount.

SORN is good, in a way… :ermm:

In better news, Iv spent god knows how long going through text messages today and TA DA… I found the convo/number of the person I sold it too!

FINGERS CROSSED!!!
If this fails then I will be contacting DVLA, I really want it back! :crying:

Good luck with finding it your lost love (this is like a bikin’ Friends Reunited :D) . My first bike was the FZR400 3TJ and I loved it.

If I get it back i will be SO happy!
My mrs will go mad but oh well…

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh whys he not answering his phone?!?!?!
Iv now sent him a FB request… :satisfied: Not sure if its too much or not but… :Whistling:

How did you find the guy to sell it to him in the first place? Phone him up? ask if he has it or who he sold it to?

I wish I’d bought back my first bike too. she had the bars and everything attached to them nicked and the owner has it carted off by the insurers before they told me about it :frowning:

How did I find him?
I advertised it on ebay, he bought it, I delivered it to hastings.

Iv called him, he hasn’t answered,
Iv text and now added him on FB…

Im starting to feel like a stalker but I don’t care if it means I get my bike back!

iirc, you contact the dvla and they send the current owner a letter saying you want to get in touch.

my old bike is in Luthiuania :frowning:

no chance of finding that then

I saw one of my old bikes not long ago , a member here was looking for a bike , knew I used to have one … we went , we looked … It was my old bike

Haha, yeah! Shame it was being kept in the cat’s loo! God that place stank

I’d like to have my old Bandit back, but I think it’s in Poland now :frowning:
