Been having a little clearance of my unwanteds on eBay …
Sold a couple of decent cabinets to this chap cheap as chips collection only. I thought we’d arranged a collection date for last Sunday but it was a no show, no problem - nothing lost. Re-arranged collection for early doors this morning and buyers girlfriend turns up at 7.30am. We loaded the cabinets into her car had a little chat, she has a good look over the Bonne’ and then wants to leave without paying. The cheeky young lady tells me her boyfriend didn’t say anything about a payment.
I lost my rag and she had it away with the cabinets explaining her boyfriend will do a bank or paypal transfer later in the day.
Contact him and see if he pays up. It might be ok.
I’ve arranged to calcuate postage prior to payment and posted then prior to being paid as I couldn’t be arsed to go back to the post office again. When I advised of combined postage they paid straight away which was just as well. If it was only a small amount he should just settle up. Unusual that she didn’t just pay you the cash though.
Sounds like you have indeed been scammed I doubt you’ll see the paypal payment arrive…
Contact the “buyer” through Ebay stating that he has taken the goods and you now expect payment within 24 hours or you’ll leave negative feedback. That’s about all you can do at this point.
First never ever release the goods until the payment has cleared into your account. I have done a lot of buying and selling on eBay, and if they want to collect then they need to pay in advance or bring the readies. And they can only take things once I have the cold hard cash in my hands.
Two as a seller you can’t leave negative feedback.
I’ll be honest, I doubt very much you will see any money for it.
Suppose you could have said, “I’m sure we can come to some arrangement” I saw a movie like that once. Think it was in that box of Rollerblades I sold on here.
Art, I’m sure the “buyer” has just forgotten that he has not paid you for the goods. Wait until later on (perhaps til the end of the day) and see if he does a PayPal thingy… :Whistling:
Be extra tight on security John - hate to worry you, and hopefully it is all genuine, but she may have been ‘casing the joint’. Unlikely, but not worth taking the risk. Oh and even if they do pay, still be vigilant. You do hear all sorts of stories.
Have you looked at the eBay account, has it just been set up or has it been there awhile.
What does the feedback say, or is there none. If you are not too familiar with eBay I am sure
there is someone on here who could do some digging (PM me if you want) with the account details
if you don’t want to post it.
