Is it doable as a commuter?

Looking at the small ish Iron 883…

Lovely piece of kit. Mate I reckon every bike is doable as a commuter ye sure there are some bikes that are produced especially for the purpose but if you bought one of them every time you get on it you will be think should I have bought the other one.

If your going to spend your hard earned cash buy what you really want then you wont be disappointed. Well that my view for what it worth  , oh and ye one gets parked to next to me most mornings

Yes, one person where I work has one similar, some black anniversary 883 with rubber mounts on the engine (?) and commutes with it all the time no worries.Max

I sat on that at the Excel show, stunning looking but such an awkward riding position for me.

It’ll be fine all the time you’re going in a straight line

Seriously though, my mate rides a Sportster and has no trouble filtering.

Potato Potato Potato:D

This is very encouraging guys, thanks.

Makes me very happy. Although i’ve not even ridden a bike I just like the loud engine note and think I’d enjoy a torquey rather than revvy ride.

Cool…but…some day in your life I really recommend experiencing what its like to trash a modern in-line4 jap 600cc or 750cc sports bike above 11k rpm in second or third gear.

There’s something prime-evil about going throttle lock all out on a 600cc japanese bike reaching the point where it start bouncing off the rev-limiter, take a test ride from a dealer when you are able and find out :)I even used to follow a mate’s ZX-7R just because I loved that sound sooo much…baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz( if you have ram air:w00t: I’m sure you R1 owners know what I mean)
