If it was you that I stopped to help, or someone you know, give me a shout as the driver that did the SMIDSY actually admitted it to me as they hoisted you into the ambulance.
P.S. How’s the leg?
P. P. S. Harley foot pegs tear bloody great holes in car wings!!!
But they won’t release personal info or pass on messages from my experieince. Instead they invite you to pay an enourmouse amount of money for release of the records.
TBH the guy was really stand-offish.
I shifted his bike, gave him the low-down on the damage, asked if he wanted me to phone anyone, asked if he would like me to go home, get my trailer and shift his bike to somewhere safe, gave him my mobile number, bla, bla.
And all I got was the occasional grunt.
His head was fine, he’d only banged his leg so it wasn’t as if he was concussed. The ambulance crew almost laughed when he told them his leg felt like it was snapped in two, they also ruled out shock. They had him rotating his foot and wiggling it. It wasn’t even bruised. In two minutes they had him walking up and down, but took him off just to confirm it with an x-ray.
So I’m on his side because of the SMIDSY, but I’m not going out of my way for him (especially as he couldn’t even be bothered to call to say thanks).
What a grateful person. You did a great job of trying to help someone out mate. That’s a little dissapointing, but then we don’t do these things for brownie points.
He might have felt a bit rubbish because he’s just binned his pride and joy, but should have been a bit more grateful than that!! you went well out of your way mate, and good on you for doing so…
