Halogen Light bulbs

So I have 6 halogen light bulbs 240V 50W in my ceiling. This morning I turned them on and the blew the fuse. Resetting the fuse now they don’t work but there is electrical noise at the dimmer switch indicating that the circuit is still live. So I’m wondering, what the fault is. I thought it could be that a transformer needs replacing but at 240V I didn’t think they’d need one of those. The wiring is installed well so there is plenty of slack.

Any ideas. The bulbs are this type.

Faulty switch maybe…

^^^^^^what he said sounds most likely.

either switch or transmiter is faulty/

Im not an electrician but id put money on the switch…

Flick switch- switch pops- causes it to earth- fuse trips- reset fuse/switch- light switch now buzz’s… Id guess its because theirs nothing to consume the power… I.e power is going to it but not past…

Although…
Saying that I could have just bullsh*tted the whole thing…

:Whistling: It sounded good.
