Half the teeths missing on sprocket

Just checked yesterday and half the teeth seemed to be missing on the sprocket. I will be changing it tommorow. Lucky it the chain did not come off.

forget the chain bit,.half the bloody teeth ?!..
…lucky you didn’t come off, possibly fatally!..

something ain’t right here,…you need to check your machine everyday matey.
get it sorted before there’s an RIP post on you!.

what kind of abuse must a bike endure to have teeth missing from the sprocket???

methinks u need to check the way u ride .

Hang on a minute you are never telling us the whole story are you?

First you post to say your sprocket carrier bearing is in bits, then you post to say your chain is stretched and now this.:w00t:

There is something very wrong with your bike and it needs attention asap by someone who knows the whole story.

Its not the sprocket on my CBR 600, that baby never gave me any problems. This is my second bike which is 2002 model ER 500 I bought from a SA man leaving to go home for £500 with 28k on clock. The bike was standing for year, I changed tyres, front disk, pads + shoes now the sprocket bearing £6 and also this week the chain+front and rear sprockets £58 the set. I think the old sprocket was cheap ****. I was regularly oiling the chain but was doing 1K to 1200 miles a week hence i guess this problem.

2 weeks ago the new front brake pads went this I suspect because of seized calipers which I partially cleaned and put old pads but I got some new pads which I will put when I clean the calipers properly.

May be this ******* bike is a lemon or these kawasakis are ****…you tell me?

Sorry mate I thought it was all on the same steed:w00t:

I’ve not owned one but the ER-5 seems quite a solid little bike and you see plenty of couriers using them which is usually a good indication:)

If a kwak is not looked after they will rot there brakes always need heaps of tlc

Couriers use all kind of **** bikes as long as they are cheap to run and mantain.

After riding my er 5 and then going back to the cbr I think to my self what a **** bike the er5 is but its cheap to mantain and run not like the cbr 600.

Sounds like Yamaha calipers a few years ago. You cleaned them up and by the time you got your helmet on they had seized again:w00t:
