Had it with this @#@$ economy!

Hey guys,

Now since the end of November I’ve been unemployed… it seems like every lorry driving job I call about (like the one I rang for this morning) is saying they have had “loads of applicants” and they will call me back… Yeah right! I’m getting so desperate I’ve even considered getting back into the living hell that is IT support work. It’s really frustrating!

Sure, I suppose I should be glad I’m not homeless, but living on my meagre job seekers allowance is no walk in the park… I want to be out and about, kicking @ss and taking names, and earning cash so I can finally buy some panniers for my bike and go on an Epic trip this summer…

Instead, I have to sit here with my dad’s insane girlfriend nattering about dust and banging with my head against the walls with boredom… think I’ll go for a ride as long as I can still afford some petrol, that’ll clear my head!

Oh and also… if anyone knows of any work going whatsoever… I have a class CE lorry licence, I know Unix and Windows Servers, Perl scripting and TCP/IP networking technology… at this point I’d even take courier work… if you have anything whatsoever, anywhere, I’m quite literally ready to get on my bike. If it beats my EUR 350 unemployment cheque I’m all over it like a rash!

alistar just posted about bloomberg recruiting could try that fella

I share your pain. Sent CV off on Monday night after the job was posted on jobsite or jobserve or one of those at just before 6pm. Phoned Tuesday morning 10.30 to see if they’d read it. “No, sorry,” came the reply, “I haven’t got to yours yet, I had 150 CVs in from that one job ad.” It was only a 3-month contract!
