I just had a look at some puppies or dogs going for free… and guess what… all scams, suddenly the onwers had to move up in Scotland or God knows what place asking for my personal details and around £100 delivery charges:) I even said I was going to drive down and see the onwers, how the puppies were kept etc… and they just blanked me.

WTF is going on with people these days and who the hell would fall for such a scam? I have included my latest conversations:

4. Will you send pictures of these puppies to us in future if you finally re home them?
5. Are you a breeder?, If you are a breeder then you just have to forget about these puppies because we don,t want them to be use like a breeding machine but to be love and cared for.
6. How soon do you need the puppy?
7. How many of them do you intend to re home?
8. Where about are you located?
   If you will be able to furnish me with the information above then you should email me back to arrange for a day for viewing. I want to note here that i will arrange for delivery to those that will not be able to come to Portree for viewing. If you will be able to come for them then email me for directives but if you won’t then we can arrange for one of the puppy of your choice to be deliver to you at your home.

7. How many of them do you intend to re home? Only one as I would rather give total attention, would prefer the female.
8. Where about are you located? London but I can come down to Portree as I have some friends near Dundee and I haven’t used my holiday at work yet.*

I already said I was going to come down… I can drive down at any time just let me know at least a few days in advance so I can book my time off. It would be great next weekend so I can book Thursday and Friday off. I would prefer to come down and pick her up as I don’t feel comfortable leaving a small puppy with a delivery company. Plus I would like to see her before I agree to take her.

Can I have your address details so I know where to come?

For £100 I think I rather drive down and pick it up myself since it is about 500 miles return trip, that would cost me about £35 in Diesel.

If I drive down it will give me the chance to see you and the puppy’s home, plus I will have a few hours in the car with her and she will be more comfortable in my car than with a delivery company.

90% of the bikes i showed interest in on Gumtree were trying to pull a similar scam. At first glance everything seems alright on that place but the more you dig the more you realize the vast majority are out to con you! I probably brought the only legitimate bike for sale, wouldn’t bother with it again and if it looks to good to be true then it certainly will be!

ha… well I didn’t really look at the photos, besides on gumtree they were much smaller.

I can’t believe they run scams on everything… to be honest I should have picked it up by the way they wrote.

Next time I think I will try and see how far it goes before I stop the communication.

Know someone that got a “yahoo lottery” win:) the address they gave was in London… the guy said I live in London:) and all communication stopped. (e-mail address yahoo.com no indication of country)

What pisses me off is the fact that people obviously believe them… they make money for free…

Anyone had a look at http://www.swoopo.co.uk/ ??? how can people fall for it?? ah no worries it is only £2 lost, but add that to 10000 users and… see how much money the owners make.

Snap!.. exactly the same thought in my mind… those grass blades no way grow to that thickness in the UK or any European country. I think it’s deffo scam… next thing you know he’ll be saying that the delivery company said they will want the money up front before delivering.

you can forward the emails to [email protected]/gmail/hotmail/ect and there accounts will get shut down. that always winds those idiots up nicely.

Definitely a scam…

Have a look at this site. It’s one of man scams that these people do. And sadly, lots of people fall for them! :pinch: However, their are also “Scam-baiters” who take these emails to the full extent, and more or less turn the scam around on the scammer! It’s been mentioned on here a few times, but it’s still worth a good read. Had me in stitches for days!
