Its not what the americans are going to do to him. His fate was in the hands of his own people.
Seems a bit hipocritical to me. I don’t see how the UN can allow this. Surely life imprisonment is enough? I know it might not reflect how people feel, but I thought we were beyond taking a life for a life in this day and age? Seems barbaric to me. Has mankind really not moved on?
I have to say, I feel really uncomfortable looking at a man that knows he is going to be killed by a pre-meditated act. Some might even call it “his murder”.
I know I am not from his culutre, and haven’t experienced the consequences of his rule, so have very little to add to this, but I feel very uncomfortable looking at any man who has been told, “We’re going to kill you”. I actually think its quite sick.
Especially bearing in mind the awfully questionable nature of the “court process” that recognised NONE of the Iraqi nations court processes and instead, purported to be a facsimile of an American tribunal. HOw farcical a decision is this.
I am sickened by a humanity that says its ok to murder a murderer. Murder is either wrong or it isn’t…

I’m sure this is a frequent event in Iraq but we dont hear of it, but this is high profile so were gonna hear about this to the end i guess.
what everyone, especially blair, seems not to have realised is that the Americans have done in Afganistan and Iraq exactly what they said saddam has done in Iraq. Invaded another country against UN rules, indiscriminately killing whoever they felt like (including us), torturing people, imprisoning people without trial etc…
I’m not for saddam by any means and he has done much worse than america, but when we act as the people we despise have done, we become as bad as them.

Kind of ironic when you think that since the invasion of Iraq more people have died than ever died under Saddam. Current estimations are that the annual death toll is double what it was when he was ruling
