Always been meaning to register up with LB, finally found a few mins free to do so
Just shouting out a big “hello” to all. No doubt will be posting up some questions in a few minutes time…
Weather’s a bit temperaMENTAL today, but will definitely be down the Ace later this evening… I’ve got a recently ‘resurrected’ K4-6, or the ‘Frankenstein’ as I’ve come to call it (yellow front, black sides, blue tank and white tail :hehe, hopefully catch up with some of you at some point or another, to share a joke in jest over my styling choices…
Yeah it’s the same ol’ Rich here. Tried to keep up with you last week leaving the Ace… but it’s like trying to catch up with a fricking rocketship (ahem, all within the legal speed limit officer, honest!.. hmmm… now that makes me sound like i can’t even catch up to you doing 40mph!! haha)
I’ve been unusually busy at work lately… Had a nightmare day in Cardiff two days ago, will fill u in later at the Ace.
Bren and “Ye Old Tug’s” coming along too… any news from sWill and Terry2? Haven’t seen those guys in ages.
Thanks Jay!
I’ll try post some pics up later… it’s almost finished, just needs panels painting up (and a new rear tyre ) Lovely bike… Used to have a SRAD-6, and they’re pretty different hey? hehe
I hopefully will get to come to Brazen (was reading up on Tel’s newbie entry earlier).
Apologies to all for late reply
Thank you all (including the gents before and in addition - SheWoolf, Mini Mo, Salee, samanthazx12r and adam h) for such a warm welcome… It really is encouraging for this newbie
It’s chucking it outside at the moment, but I’m still gonna go Ace… Hopefully will get to see some of you guys (and ladies) there
Yeah, let’s discuss plastics over a cuppa later adam
Here’s what happened with my K4 (apologies in advance for long-winded version)
I bought it as a lightly smashed K4 few months ago… I was riding around on a SRAD6 for the past 2 years before that. Loved the SRAD, crashed it, rebuilt it and after that, thought I’d be keeping it for a lot longer… then i saw the K4.
Had a broken front cowl bracket
Bent front right disc
Dent and hole in radiator
Punctured bodywork
Cracked altenator casing (which I think I bought a replacement off you! (in some ways, the bike wouldn’t be on the road if not for your help, so double cheers! ))
Snapped clutch lever
The chassis was straight otherwise… no damage to tank, frame, forks or swing arm. Was suggested to me to 'fighter it, but i’ve already got another bike for a 'fighter project (more to come on that in the future).
Thought it wasn’t a viable purchase (was thinking '04 plate - insurance would kill me), but insurance was favourable so i set about fixing it up. Borrowed a mate’s 50cc scooter while i looked for parts. Took around 6 weeks in total to find all the necessary parts plus some bits of (tasteful) bling along the way, also got my mate to cut down the carbon Akra that came with it.
End result to date is a multi coloured K4, but it runs fine. It’s been back on the road for just 3 weeks, and I’m still loving it even in the cold and rain. Over all it’s been quite a good experience. (might be saying something different if it was still up on the bike lift til now hehe)
Hi Lustfish… nice Cibby6
Was at Ace this evening Dragged mate who rides a Monster (everyone say ‘ahhhh’… teehee to be fair, it’s a great looking/sounding bike, but hopefully he’ll join LB soon and fill y’all in on the problems he’s been having with it) through the driving rain.
Don’t usually head over to Ace on Mondays, but I’ll try and pop down this coming Mon. Wouldn’t mind checking out Brazen too… I’ll probably venture down also (unless I’m out of London).
I’ll post some pics up of my bike soon as i stop adding new posts hehe
hehe Thanks M Great site y’all have here… becoming addicted to it each passing hour! I know I’ll need to get some sleep soon, otherwise my riding’ll be affected hehe
Hello and welcome to the forum, I will hopefully catch up with everyone next year at some of the meets, but the bike is away now for the winter. Plus the A1 is not the nicest road to ride when the weather is horrid…
