Today I managed to drill some holes in the pieces I have been cutting and fitted them to the sub-frame.
I’m now in the middle of making a less ‘busy’ version of the tail tidy.

tailuntidy
Overflow flask and holder, Offer upage (again), another tail tidy I made (not finished) and an Eagle Headlight from Nick at jesterstrickbits.co.uk (not necessarily in that order).
yea, I know it (the tail tidy) is well shonky, but I did it without a ruler and it’s not going to be seen
mightlife thinking to himself: “Killswitch checked, stand, checked… why the hell is it not starting???”
hehe, molt bé! (very good!)
Ok, not much action recently, but yesterday I removed some bits and cleaned them today.
I also tried out some brackets I made for the headlight.
Clean and unmessy. Like it.
Things are looking up a bit, I have been recommended a decent a mechanic that charges a reasonable rate and by the end of next week I hope to help him start cleaning the engine parts ready for reassembly.
The risers I bought arrived recently, but it’s going to be too expensive to post the bars from London, so I’ll stay with the clip-ons at first. I have to shift things around a bit to accommodate some bar end mirrors.
I might add some LEDs behind the screen and make a backlit logo-thing - just an idea (the white balance of the camera makes it appear more blue than in reality).
Apparently, aluminium bends better when heated, so I put a lever in some boiling water, then replaced it in the bracket - if it was on the bike, I would have had more leverage, but this was enough to stop it sticking.
thumbs up bigly
A bit more progress as I managed to swap my Oxford Sports bumbag for some Buell XB bars.
Filled the webbing in my top triple.
Measured, more than twice, then drilled it out and fitted risers and bars.
Made notches in the bars, well, on one side, these are really tough buggers and burnt out a couple of drill bits trying to do the other side
The result being that only one switchgear is on ATM.
Also made a support for the rear fairing.
Oh, and drunken eBuying will result in some new chinese shorty levers in a couple of weeks :o
you calling him big and ugly?
I just had a fvck off shouting match in English with some fool cager. I was the bigger man.

not sure but be careful on the single bolted risers, most people use 2 bolt risers when fitting to a yoke which normally had no risers.
when you get bars for it see if you can get risers welded.
Really?
On CF, OSS and other sites I’ve never heard that. Of course two bolts would make a more secure fit, but it’s not a mega load bearing joint like frame -> shock or swinger -> frame.
Hopefully my drag bars (see earlier in the thread) are coming to Barcelona at the end of the month. I just need to get them anodised or change the colour somehow - any ideas?

yeah just saying the 2 bolts would be better.
True.
Things might be on hold now as my scooter is decided to have a fit
