GRR.. Tank respray required!!!

I know that the local foxes like to climb up on the bikes (Ask OldGuy if you dont believe me!), but 99% of the time i have a cover on the bike…

Last night I forgot!..:w00t:

I woke up this morning to find that my lovely shiny Bandit has aquired 3 lovely sratches to the paintwork of the tank!

I know someone on here makes their bread through painting and from what I heard, they were pretty damn handy with a spray gun!..

Anyone wany to step into the limelight and give me a quote!! Its a bandit 650, so nothing too complicated, although its a metalic paint just to be annoying…

Thanks in advance!

Il Bandito

Can’t mean me then

Well in that case does anyone know anyone else worth speaking to for quotes! hehePreferably Local to SE London/ Kent/ Essex as im gonna have to steal Oldguys bike to transport it, so wouldnt like to be travelling too far!

have you considered these guys? no experience of them personally but know someone who has used them and they did a good job.

Cheers for the link Rank - However their quote of £250 stings quite a lot!

Anyone else know anyone?..

I (hopefully) have a technician from Colortec coming on Sat to sort out some bad scrapes from where I dropped my scooter… OOOPS.

THey’re similar to chipsaway and do paint repairs, but they’re cheaper and came recommended to me. I will probably post a review of what I think of the work when it’s done. Might be worth a thought for you.

The Russians spray therer in some kind of cameoflage effect. try it out.

Il Bandito.

If your wanting to “borrow” my bike, you’d better sort this out for the last week in August while I’m away.

Any other time, get the friggin train!

That’s the way to tell 'em OG.

And by the way, this is the carriage of an older, more gentle, sort of rider, so no pinning the throttle in third through the Limehouse Link.

Quite right.

Thank you for your support, Jetstream.

Now, do you know any paint repairers in S E London?

J&S marine repairs are a handy outfit when push comes to shove.

Why not just buy a Baglux tank cover … will cover scratches, and protect from future damage.

He did that the day before the damage. Pity it’s not arrived yet.

And then there is the trade in problem at some later date…

how deep are these scratches???

have you tried a bit of t-cut and elbow grease? :D;)

They are pretty varied really - The otside two are less bad - The inside one is a buggar- a serries of small ‘pin sharp’ holes joined together…Seems to have reached the metal in places! :w00t:

I called my local suzuki dealer who told me paint pens are no longer available!.. was planning on paint penning them in, then T-cutting over the top to get as good a blend as possible…

I’m reading El Gordos thread on LB, on the above, in the breakfast room (whatever breakfast is), back to the open door onto the garden. Hear a slight noise and turn to find that a young dog fox has snuck in, stolen one of Mrs. O’s trainers and is now busy eating the innersole. Brave little bu88er!

So intent is he on this, I’m able to walk up behind him, slip my foot under his nuts and and forward roll him down the garden…

Boy do we have a fox problem this year.

I’d be worried he’ll never give it back after experiencing that lovely single rumble in the tunnel when opening that throttle steadily

Good thought, but trail is not the ideal commute (too wide) and the tenor rumble of a four through a Carboncan in the tunnel is just as seductive, as is an Italian twin through Akropovics or a Japanese two stroke triple at silly RPM.

Be honest, we’re all bike whores.
