I’ve bought a Gas Gas EC200 and plan doing a bit of green laning and off road riding this year, spring onwards. I see trials boots and motocross boots - what’s the difference and which do I need ? I want good support and heat protection but I’m not racing mx . . . but the trials boots look a bit thin . . . ?
What about body armour ? What do other people use ? I always use a back protector on the road but I’ve been the Alpinestars Bionic kit.
As you will have seen, trials boots are generally lighter and offer less protection than full on Motocross boots due to the usual expected use - Trials v. Motocross.
Trials riding usually requiring a lighter, slightly more flexible boot which suits the slower paced, more accurate and balance critical sport.
v.
Motocross riding requiring a tougher, all-round more protective boot able to withstand the fast paced racing need placed upon it by the rider (and when he goes ‘foot out’).
However, if you’re just looking for something for light use about some Uggs?
