Great digital camera prices, Tesco direct..quandry..which one (entry level)

Hi

My digi camera dropped in a fat puddle climbing snowdonia one misty wet day a couple of weekends back.

One of those situations where family need presents buying, but I too, need to buy myself a toy and cant be without my camera. So need to consider an entry level digi camera on a good budget price

My shortlist

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-3089.aspx Fuji A860 (8.1 megapixel)

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-0219.aspx Kodak C813 (8.2 megapixel) £45!!

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-7961.aspx Samsung S760

Whats your favourite brand on personal choice of the above manufacturers?

Any camera buffs on here?

My finger is itching to press the purchase button on one of these three, thanks for your Saturday morning input!

not an expert by any means but from my understanding entry level point and shooters anything over 6 mega pixels allows it to be blown up A4 size without seeing the digital aspect.

UMMMMMMM, I bought the missus a Kodak a little while back, it’s a sound camera.

to be honest any of those will handle an A0 print and still look pretty good. at the end of the day a camera for that price you’ll just want to find the one that fits your hand best and how easy it is to play with the functions. i vote for the fuji though.

I’ve had a Fuji for a few years now, excellent little cam, heaps of features and shooting modes and the pc software is also excellent so i’ve been meaning to get a new one, but spoilt for choice.

But think nowadays , its difficult to get a bad one, so as has been said, probably best to go with whichever one you like the look of.

The fuji certainly looks the most asthetically pleasing

got a fuji myself, check and see if it has got anti-vibration on it then you can take pix on the move, you’ve seen how they come out when taken from my moving bike

more or less they are very similar, the kodak is “Compatible With 4gb SD Cards”. the others dunno

would you really need more than 2,000 photos though?

Used to work in a Photo Lab, there are people who take more photo’s than that. Think the biggest order we dealt with came in on numerous cards, it was over 4000 prints! was a world trip but still when would you ever look at them again?

It’s the trouble with digital you can just click away and it doesn’t cost you any more

i’ve worked in labs for over 5 years and not seen a single order like that. but again would you really need all those images?
