Im not interested in all the people who wanna point the finger and talk like they were there so ill keep this one simple.
left the holland park round about towards the a42 heading to the a40, was in the third lane so i didnt drift across any lanes or anything like that. i got up to 40 the car in front moved completely over into the left (middle lane) i went forward he then snapped the steering to the right infront of me. The front wheel of my bike went into the rear right quarter of the car it dug in and flipped the bike up.
i went face first into the ground and woke up on my back with my bike to my side. didnt have a clue what was happening or what happened then it all started coming back to me. turns out i went over the bike and it then pushed me down the rode sliding me for quite abit. the link pipe was on my bum which melted the trousers and made a burn on my cheek. ive got grazes and bruises nothing major like broken bones. my kit done a great job as youll see in the pictures.
The driver saw me on the road and i quote from a witness “you looked dead” and sped off up the road. luckily the guy on his blade had already pulled over to the left and blocked the driver but he shot off towards the a40 and was stopped by a guy on his R6.
the police arrested and charged him. he was driving a hire car so explains why he wanted to leg it but still thats no excuse.
to clear up all those wanted to grill me, i was NOT
changing lane
too close to the car
speeding
my lights were on the conditions were dry and there was nothing i could of done to get out of this as he was right next to me when he drove into me. yes i am now staying off the bike and will be using the money for my car any stupid comments will be ignored so dont even bother
cheers fella its scared the cr*p out of me as it was only afew weeks ago that poor guy died hitting the central reservation which could of been me as i was on the inside lane when he slammed into me.
Crikey m8, that sounds like a BIG off! Glad you’re still with us. Like I said on your other thread, if you aint having fun out there, its not worth it, give it up…
Unlucky dude cant believe the arsehole drove off glad your mate caught him though what a ******!! probably not a good thing to happen at anytime but what with the way you be feeling about biking lately cant be a good contributing factor to wanting to stay on two wheels, hope you heel up soon and it all gets sorted as quick as…
So glad you’re still here to post about it mate! I suppose one of the worst parts about this is the fact that you’ve spent all that time and money getting the bike up to the quality standard it was in… :pinch:
Sounds like the driver is going to be having a bit of a hard time explaining this one!
Rest up buddy! And start thinking how you’ll be spending the payoff you should be recieving. Milk the f*^ker for every penny you can get mate!
Sh1t news fella, glad you’re still with us to tell the tale, hopefully not to sore today and good to see your kit stood up to the impact well. Looks like it maybe is time to give it a rest and have a break…
As for the fecker that knocked you off, what is wrong with people these days?!?
How can someone cause what could amount to a fatal collision, luckily in this case it did not, and then just feck off and not worry about the person lying in the road? My conscience wouldn’t allow me to be that selfish!!
Sounds like a good idea, and to be fair we’re coming into the worst time of the year to be on a bike, wet, miserable and cold, so a good time to be in the pub with a pint and a roaring fire instead!
Glad you woke up before that pipe cooked your arse even more.
Also glad its clear cut and you have witnesses, which will ease the claim.
The roads full of scarily rubbish drivers, just last night a lady pulled out infront of me from being pulled in on the left of a busy one way, still indicating left, just decided it was time to go and pulled out in front of me.
Had a word with her at the next set of lights and she was angry that I’d beeped her and told me she was indicating so what was the problem. Told her what she’d done and no appology just “well that was a mistake then”
There are some areas in london and suburbs where I’m super carefull, most drivers dont indicate and drive in a highly eratic fashion. Thx the pagan spirits my bikes got a decent turn of speed and a loudish pipe.
I’m seriously considering getting one of those cheapo cams for the bike, just in case I’m in an accident and need proof. Shame you cant send off the best ones to the police and claim a share of the fine.
fuuuck…so glad your ok mate…if you need out im only a stones throw away shiv;)
Im so glad your still with us bud…and i know how easy it is to mull over on the ‘what could have happend’ espech with littlun around…but try not to think about it too much…you survived and got away with it all be it bruises and such…thats more than you could ask for mate…
like i said…gis a shout if you need anything mate…im only in catford…
Was shocked when you called me earlier but now i see the damage i am realising just how lucky you were…Hope your okay and don’t hurt to much, at least you will have a nice payout to buy a decent car
