Kentish Town police are useless b*****ds. I was actually there today to report an incident (also in Camden) where I was trying to deliver a pizza at Hilldrop Crescent and a group of kids pelted me with chicken-egg sized rocks as I was riding past. A few of them hit the bike and one hit me square in the face between the eyes – thank GOD I was wearing motocross goggles and it just bounced off. I had another few hits in the back and chest and went I went past again later they repeated the exercise.
The outcome? 999 said “it’s not a life threatening emergency, talk to your local nick”.
Kentish Town nick says “yeah, you can report them for assault, but they’re under age anyway and you’re gonna have to wait about an hour because of all these people who are waiting before you”.
Useless b*****ds… I’m going back to what I did when I was in Germany in my teens: carry a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with CS gas cartridges.
Fk the police, if you go 40mph in a 30 they get lippy but when your st gets nicked or you get pelted with rocks they do absolutely nothing…
Same problem over here mate. If the lads are underage they get away with nearlly everything. Personally I would just go over and kick the living shite outta them, or if they where way younger than me, just get someone else more their age to do it. Then again I dont have a little gun. sounds like a plan to me.
Next time your going down that way. Have about 50 of the lads behind you on their bikes. Get them to stop about 1 minute before you get to the place. you go on ahead and when the little fuckers start throwing things at you, they will get some shock seeing 50 smelly hairy bikers coming around the corner. ha ha haha
In political science terms we, the people, gave up the right to exercise force ourselves (eg. beat, shoot, kill people) and relegated this duty to the government which in turn promises to protect us. This is called “the monopoly of force” and is the cornerstone of a democratic, civilized society. (Or so I learned in school in Germany.)
However, if the state and its institutions don’t do their job of protecting me I’m quite happy to take that power back and protect myself. To call me a criminal for doing this is just silly.
What can I legally beat them with? Bigger rocks? A 2x4? What part of this country’s rules say I have to take a rock square between the eyes from some little sh*t and have no recourse about it?
FWIW even if I go strapped, the police will never catch me, they’re too busy busting so called “terrorists” or hassling people for going 10 miles over the speed limit to care.
OK, I’m bitter about this so I’ll shuddup but it doesn’t make it OK at all.
Itsthemechanic, I can sympathise with you mate but a few pointers of law.
You can defend yourself from assault and an attack on your property, this is covered by a couple of very strong points of law - Sec 3 Criminal Justice Act and Common Law Power. That act of defence though must be deemed reasonable and that can only be decided by a court - coppers can’t say it was ok.
It stops being a defensive act when you chase some little toerag off and give him a slap though, it is then that you have committed an assault.
You can of course chase and detain them but you have to make sure that your actions are whiter than white - and it always would be good to have witnesses to say that you used very little force (no more than reasonable) to detain them also.
And no offence, if you went “strapped” you would be caught eventually and believe me, getting caught and stopped by local / traffic plod would be like a nice gentle walk in the park compared to getting caught by SO19. You really don’t want that to happen, believe me, I know.
Nothing wrong with being bitter about it mate, I know how you feel. The law of the land is an ass and as long as the politicians of this country continue to come from being lawyers (of which many do) the main focus of the law will be the defence of scumbags so that the said lawyers can make a fortune.
Changing the subject completely, do you think it was OK that one of the Muslims in East London was shoot? Of course we don’t know the full circumstances. He said he was just shot without warming, but I am sure there were 50 coppers there that would to say there definitely was one. It does seem a bit excessive, as they appear to be completely innocent.
If you’re talking about events at Frith, lets just say, lucky I’m a nice understanding bloke. If you’re not talking about that - I haven’t the foggiest !
