I’ve got a weird problem with my K6 GSX-R, possibly something to do with the ECU.
Symptoms:
When idling, the instrument (and head) lights will flicker as if they are not getting enough power.
When riding, intermittently, the bike will completely shut down. All the lights go, the power goes, the instrument panel ‘reboots’ and does the sweep of the needle and the clock is reset. Sometimes this will happen very quickly and I can get it going without too much trouble. Other times, I’ll need to stop, wait a few minutes before it will get going again. I doubt this is a battery issue as it’s only 9months old and the alarm would let me know it’s down on power.
Any suggestions from fellow London Bikers?
TIA

Check all your connector blocks are together properly and look for any obvious signs of damage to the loom. If the bike has not been dropped then its out with the multimeter.
No PowerCommander but I’ve added a Micro can so I needed to cut the cable to the exhaust valve to stop the FI light coming on. That was ages ago though so it can’t be that.
I’m an electrical dunce but I do have a multimeter - what do I need to look for?
I (sort of) properly insulated the wires that I cut. It doesn’t seem to matter what the weather is like. It is perhaps better when the engine is warm but that could be my brain playing silly buggers.
