minister of transport is presenting the new cars…

Cor! How sweet is that!?!?!

Have you seen the Lambo used by the Italian Police, on another thread? Dont know what our fastest is here, we used to have Ford Sierra Cosworths, but the naughties one Ive seen recently is the Police R1.

Anyone know what the UK Police have to offer, other than Astras?

i was stopped by a volvo. looked fast as well.

The V70 T4 - they entered those estates in the World Touring Car Championships…v. rapid! I had the pleasure of being stopped by one of those too - wasnt as nice as your experience though - he called me and my friends poofs, and near enough started a fight with us!!! Must have been a slow night for the Doset Constabulary!

Heres a pic of the R1

Wasn’t there a boy-racer film in Germany called “Autobahn Raser” were the guy was “driving” a porsche cop car.

Dunno - definitely a game though.

wow that R1 is cool.

yes, as far as i know it was a computer game and they made a movie out of it.

Hahaha! In Brazil the police go around in German cars as well , VW beatles, 1969 up to 1982!

WOOOOW, Sometimes makes me want to be a policeman with all these new performance car’s n bikes they get to speed with (oooh i’m late for me dinner- on go the blue’s n two’s)

like the tank decal…trying to say something?

Err that’ll be the V70 T5, not the T4. It is the V40 range that peaks with the T4 version. T=Turbo, 4/5 = nos of cylinders.

And it was the original (and best) 850 T5 estate that raced in the TOCA series for a year (complete with cardboard pic of shopping and labrador in the boot) then they used the saloon version.

I got stopped years ago in Teesside by an old 850 T5 and the driver reckoned the V70 (the replacement) was a bit soft at speed, his 850 could corner ‘comfortably’ at 140+ whereas the v70 wallowed a bit. Gulp.

But it is the ‘R’ version that really shifts. Remember the big custard yellow estate they launched back in the early 90s - the 850R. Some 280bhp.

Anymore useless facts about Volvos? I used to have one as a company car…and I’m a bit sad.

I’ll raise you 1 Lambo
