Gatso Jihad

This was mentioned in the Metro this morning. What do people think?

I think someone got the video and put it in their own film, added a bit of music and then put it online.

It’s an old film.

There was great discussion about how silly it was to do it on such a recogniseable bike.

That vids about 2 years old - When I see a burnt out camera I always think ‘Good on em’ for whoever had the balls to do it, not a view that everyones going to share but thats mine

video is apparently no longer available anyway…

works for me ?

search ‘stu-pid riding’ on youtube, that’s what it’s from. The guys who did it got away with it and loads of dangerous driving/riding because nobody could proove it was these two guys who did it because of the helmet or something along those lines. It is cool to watch anyway even if some of it was stupid

That’s as funny as f8ck! Love the Jihad pastiche!

Usual preamble - ‘no problem outside schools, known blackspots etc’ - but the rest of these cams are just part of the governments attempt to social engineer us into a load of passive, compliant sheep.

Just to put a hypothetical thought out there - we - as a nation - could end these things overnight if everyone decides to trigger them at speed - civil disobedience en-masse would make the gatso scheme unworkable. I mean - they can’t ban the whole f8cking country can they

:w00t: oh well…

It works for me, i find it irisponsable and funny at the same time.

I don’t think burning it is irresponsible at all, could easily have saved somebody’s life by allowing drivers to focus on what they’re doing, not a tax revenue device.

What is definately irresponsible is the govt and the so called do-gooders who wanted them in the first place, they are responsible for killing and injuring 1000’s of people who might otherwise still be alive had the focus of road safety not been corrupted in the name of tax.

There was a mobile van this morning on my way to see a client, not near a bend, or a school or even near a 30 limit with the possibility of pedestrians around, no, it was positioned half way down a straight piece of nsl, wide, straight open road, nearest junction or building at least a mile away. Collecting tax from people going to work and trying to overtake the numpties who insist on doing 40mph everywhere. That’s irresponsible.

Can I get off my soap box now :stuck_out_tongue:

+1 - It’s like the bit of BBC news film that was posted here a couple of months ago showing a speed-camera-van crew at work - a lot of people slammed on the anchors and span out of control when they saw the van - and the cretins in the van were being smug about it - WHEN THEY WERE CLEARLY INDUCING POTENTIALLY FATAL ACCIDENTS - which would not have taken place if they had been doing something useful with their time instead of scaring the bejesus out of taxpaying, insured people who were driving perfectly safely.

could give all of us bikers a bad name, tarnish us with the same brush and affect the police response when we do something minor wrong-throwing police discression out of the window.

I cant see anyone thinking anything but good on them,i bet every car lorry and van that went passed while this was going on tooted there horn, more of it i say.

All we have to do is send you ahead as a decoy

lmao

I have always got a small pleasure from seeing real or video camera burns. (Shame on me at my age.)

The problem now is that because of that and better technology, the cameras are being mounted higher and further away from the road markings and the newer digital cameras have already sent their pictures back to the NPR system.

Next step? Felling the pylons with a disc cutter?

I can’t possibly endorse that now that even this general chat email is probably being filed under the “anti terrorism” laws somewhere.

A.k.a. 1984 restrictions.

Good morning GCHQ.
