Front tyres

Hello Gang!

I understand that those Avon Extreme wets (road tyres) aren’t available any more, what should i be using instead?

Ta,

Sneaky

You mean the Avon PXRs?

You can still get them on ebay? Someone had posted a link for me when I was looking but I forgot to keep it :frowning:

I’d be interested in this as well as I don’t fancy a distanzia on the front

Front and rear here (I think - not sure what Azaro stands for, never seen that before) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120-70-17-180-55-17-HR-Avon-Azaro-Pro-Xtreme-Rain-SP-/360237621656?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item53dfd5e198

Edit: I never went ahead and bought some as there’s still plenty of tread… well my eye thinks there is!

I use the Goldspeed 16.5" front, as good as a PXR I reckon. They do 17" wets too but have not tried that one:

damn, they only do 120/60/17… I’m 120/70/17! :frowning:

Edit: What about the Dunlop Mutants for the front? Any good?

I will go for PXR, you can not beat it for all year front. Good price too… is it rally last 3 in UK :w00t:

I got one for spare from this guys recently

what’s he talking about tubeless valve?

Oooh don’t have enough cash at the moment but must buy!

If tbere old they will crack before they wear out!

Got the Goldspeed Street Sports on front with no complaints, however not 100℅ on the rear and the way it feels as you push on when leant over. Think we had a chat about this, just doesn"t transition as smoothly as a sports tyre. Might try Contiattack SM"s on the back next. Mind you the Drizzle is probably a whole lot easier on tyres than the Riot!

Well the bike packs s, a frankly, frightening 30-40hp. Big power slaughters tyres!

But the Riot"s horses are probably all rabid hence why scary! Seriously though always thought that singles and twins had more torque hence were harder on the rear tyres/chains and sprockets than 4"s?

Yes, singles and twins do muller chains and rear tyres. I’ve just changed the rear on That Bike, I’ve only been commutin on the old one and its gone in no miles at all!
