Friend looking for a 50cc scooter

My friend is looking for a little 50cc scooter to use for a short commute to work, but is on a tight budget!

If you have one for sale or know of anyone selling, please let me know.

What is a tight budget?

It’s where you want to buy something but you don’t have a lot of money to buy it with.

How much is not a lot?

I would have said It’s where you want to buy something but you don’t have enough money to buy it with.

less than is needed to buy a 'ped

LOL, I think we are talking about up to £600!

It will only be used for a short commute, but she does shift work so a cheap reliable scooter would be ideal

Just a quick recommendation - my first 2-wheeler with an engine was a 50cc TGB - year old, about 1,200 miles on the clock and was £800 when I bought it. Had it for 2 years, really reliable, uber cheap to maintain, well built, quite funky looking. Unsuprisingly (to those that know me) it was aso a lovely shade of blue!

Just like this one, hardly used, includes lid and gloves for £600! (bit of a trek though):

Cutecheap scooter (needs MOT/tax) (project)

They get cheaper the further you go

Daws - those are 125cc, the OP is looking for a 50cc.

Out of interest, why does she want a 50cc rather than a 125cc? Mopeds always seem to be woefully underpowered, I outdrag them away from the lights on my pushbike.

Thanks for the ideas guy’s, I have suggested to her to do the CBT, but unfortunately she would rather get a 50cc scooter to start!

I remember using my mums 50cc scooter back in the early 80’s and thinking it would have been quicker walking up Woodgreen hill, so i promised myself I would get myself a bigger bike

Maybe it’s just a learning curve??

Thanks for these Daws, i have forwarded her these links and also a link to somewhere to do her CBT!

I live in hope
