Is anyone planning on doing any French track days this summer ? The benefits seem obvious to me with more reliable weather, good tracks etc. If anyone is interested or has some names of some companies that organise them could you post the details?

Byrne Up seem to visit Val de Vienne most years.
Byrne up are so-so, but VdV is a great track.

if you fancy doing SPA,Belgium, 200 miles from Calais, best track in Europe!!! www.bikersdays.com been a few times with them about £120 . very easy to get to.

SPA looks fantastic, so, so fast, I can’t wait to hit it sometime.
Have done many many tours/trakdays with byrne-up, mostly french ones.
Cannot post MY opinion on here as would breach LB forum rules.
There is a track over the east side called Folembray, easy circuit to learn and is quite a lot of fun. Went out there 2 years on the trot with Ride magazine ad loved the place. Have a few bits of vid from the place that I shall sort and post on my web space, even features Kar Lee who writes for performance bikes now.
Croix is not far from Calais either, quite an intricate circuit apparently. We have a race weekend there this year.
Spa is the best track in Europe - if Spain and Italy have been kicked out of the EEC!
I had a day at Croix [en ternois] when 20 mates hired it out by contacting the organisers directly, it was pretty cheap split 20 ways [under £100 iirc] and there were no limits on tracktime - we were free to run it ourselves - a great deal and the locals are very friendly there. Hotel in Arras 15 minutes away made it all super easy.
Spa May 27-28. Im doing either sat or sun depending on Nurburgring opening times.190 euro’s per day. anyone else? pic is me at Croix

Spa sounds good, always wanted to do that one. Will have to put aside some time from work n get some cash together.
Done croix a few times myself, mite even been on same day as ka05 as hired direct from trak with 20 mates, was august bank hol 04.
Funnily enough, it was aug 04 . . . but not the bank holiday, just a stupidly hot weekday, the track staff stopped proceedings so Sean could demonstrate his wheelies down the straight . . . sound familiar ?

still had a great time tho, the morn was ace and also managed to get some on board film.
Gavin let me have a few laps on his race bike equipped with wets, can’t begin to describe how awesome it was, Makes my bike feel like a bag of ****e.

Spa at the end of May sounds great as does the Nurburgring!! Will you post back up what dates your planning to book for Spa as I would be more than up for a weekend away (it’s Bank Holiday as well isn’t it!). When the mercury regularly rises above 10 degrees I should be out and about to introduce myself so you know I’m not some sort of headcase with a penchant for buggery…
Er, I remember Croix well! I remember thinking “cor, it was sunny two weeks ago when we came last”, then the next notable thought was “hrm, rain drops are getting a bit thicker on my visooo oohhh shiiit…” Hehe, was a good day, even with me flipping me 750 sideways and sliding on me ass…
