Forcefield and Almax gear in London !

Hi everyone! Today I got an offer for a master’s in London !!! This means I will be spending a year here  !
However, I’m not very sure I will be bringing my daytona 675 here due to soaring bike thefts. I might just buy a small bike just for moving around.

I’ll be in London until this weekend and I’d like to buy some gear. Specifically I would be interested in Forcefield back protectors and almax chains since they are not available in Greece. Is there any store in London where I can buy them?

Best Wishes

Dimitris

Congratulations on your offer; I hope you enjoy your time in London. What subject will your Masters be in?

Don’t know about Forcefield but I understand that Almax chains are only available from Almax’s website…

If I’m wrong no doubt someone on here will correct me fairly swiftly.

Infinity Hanger lane have forcefield armor in stock, and also a range of Abus chains

No!! Go for Almax!!

almax chains are very good, i have one too but they are also very big so if you want to move about with a 2metre Series III you will need a topbox or well sized tailpack [i have a 1.5m Series III but for a 675 i would say you would need a 2m long chain if you want to reach kerbside lamposts]

Almax dont sell in shops, you have to order directly. I did it over the phone and they also have a LondonBikers discount of about 10% i think.

Almax every time , when you see a series III or IV chain and compare it to the best that Abus or Oxford etc have to offer you’ll wonder why anybody else bothers making chains.

Without starting yet another Almax chain thread… its worthwhile keeping in mind that although they are very heavy - they are much much lighter than a passenger. Do what it takes to chain your bike up.
This is advice from someone who always chains their bike - and probably the only time I didnt, it was stolen. Whether just bad luck or bad judgement, it was an expensive lesson.

js accessories sell forcefield too

yeah thats exactly right…at the moment im parking in a carpark this summer so im happy using my small oxford chain, but when im back to uni and leaving it in westminister bays i always take my almax with me. lukily it fits in my pillion compartment [i dont use the cover/sleeve so i can fold the chain on itself a few times] so i just hook it onto those chain rails westminister kindly put on 1% of their bays! of course there are other ways of securing a bike but the size of an almax chain will make most theives not even take a second look at your bike. of course securing your bike is a multi-step process and so it would be good to have alarm, immobiliser etc as well.
