Does anyone use this company?
I have been chatting to a mate and can not believe the cheeck of the MD. Phoned him up slating him etc. This is wahat my friend had to say after one of there days :-
'Well after I wrote to focused events to complain about the attitude of Healey from FOcused. He phoned me back aggressively.
- he called me a sensitive whiney pouncy pussy WHO HAS NO IDEA. He ranted on with more insults. When i pointed out that it was his aggressive attitude that wound people up - he carried on.
The man is a classic bully - and tried his best to intimidate me on the phone. He tried to go on about the medical centre and stuff - but if he doesnt like his job - then maybe he shouldnt do it.’
Not really what you would expect from someone running a company trying to get money out of you.
Really? weird…I just did an evening session with focused events & they were really relaxed…
I would have definitely recommended using the company.
I’ve used them a number of times, twice over the weekend as it goes. I’ve not seen anything along the lines of what your friend experienced, but I do know that they recently had a fatality on one of their events and their stress levels have been exceptionally high because of this. For our Silverstone briefing on Sunday, Kevin, one of the head guys, was very short, to-the-point and clear about what should and shouldn’t go on. He also has a bit of a reputation as being hard-faced, but I had nothing bad to say about them.
Thanks for posting up though, it’s good to hear about what goes on, but I’m very surprised to hear that they would do something like that. Hrm.
we have had the same attitude from focused events r1 fan booked a track day with them and they published the wrong dates , when he rang to to change the date it was a day he could not do so he wanted his money back , this caused the man on the phone to start with his attitude and because he treated pete this way he has lost out on 8 people doing about 15 track days a year . now we only use them if we have nothing to do .
Word of mouth goes a long way in this game, you can’t afford to be arsey with people! Perhaps we should have some sort of name-and-shame system. Hrm…
