Well I flipped the carbon clad katie boom on Wednesday
Up in 3rd, 60mph and hit greasy manhole cover (my excuse anyway) and it flipped soooo quick. Slid along floor for 50-60 metres following the bike and then saw a lovely big lampost looming
Really thought I was a gonner. Hit post and felt excrutiating pain.
Was wearing Draggin jeans, full body armour and jacket. Outer layer of jeans ripped to shreds but Kevlar liner untouched. Cant recommend em enough
Hit the post with Alpinestars body armour and im pretty sure the back protector stopped my spine from splitting in 2.
Not a scratch on me but I do have fractured shoulder blade and a couple of cracked ribs!
Bike has a few scratches and a broken gear lever. God I love Supermoto’s
Lessons learnt? ALWAYS wear back protector and full gear
I love Morphine
Supermotos rock when it comes to damage limitation (imagine if it was an R1)
Bring on all the ‘shouldnt be stunting on roads’ brigade as if I havnt heard it enough over the last couple of days
Hopefully fix gear lever later and be back on one wheel by Wednesday

Glad that the bike isn’t too badly banged up, I’ve tried picturing an R1 doing that and frankly scared myself with a parts list. Supermoto’s do indeed appear to be dogs for stunting.
You’ll heal, so take it easy and make sure you get full strength back before trying again.
what would you do differently next time (not crashing and manhole dodging aside)? Technique etc I mean?
YER BRV IF THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A R1 IT WOULD HAVE COST ABOUT £1000 TO FIX. WELL GLAD YOUR OK AND THE BIKE KEEP STUNTING ON THE ROADS THATS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR TAKE CARE GEEZE GET WELL QUICK
Glad your ok mate! also glad the bike is ok I was so horrified when I had heard what had happened and htough ouch all that carbon! Result it’s come out ok!
How is your gear box by the way? I heard a rumor that the wheelies were killing it?

I luv Super moto’s, Mx bikes for the same reason, they just keep on takin the crashes and just keep on goin with hardly any damage!! And then there’s the fun factor aswell!!!

I am pretty impressed you can hoist em with the current road conditions. When I try I just do this lame seated rolling burnout type thing ! … roll on summer !..
They didnt say much mate as the only witness was another biker and I think he said I just lost it on greasy road. His name was Pierre and he was a dude for doing that for me.
Went out with VD lot on Sunday and binned another wheelie.
Smack straight on my busted shoulder. Not good at all.
Went back to hospital on monday cos was in soooo much pain and was having trouble breathing.
Giving the moto a rest for a week or so!!!
Motos were designed to run on one wheel weren’t they? Mate sorry to hear you caused more damage you did look as though you were in some pain though… Hope the shoulders better soon.
