On a recent thread I asked about which braided hoses. I have since decided to go for the Hel 3 line kit, but now need a recomendation for somwhere to get them fitted, preferably S E London area.
Also the brake pads are still the originals from new, after almost 15,000 miles I’m guessing that it would make good seense to change them in conjunction with the replacement brake lines.
This is all in advance of maximum stopping power for the impending track day.
Oh and a good dose of caution will help too… 15,000 on one set of pads?!? Then you’re gonna leap onto a bike with brand new pads and braided lines… mind you don’t flip over eh!
Fitting lines yourself is easy, its the ruddy repressurising that’s the bastid.
It is a fairly easy job, but there’s enough room to f*ck it right up if you don’t know what you’re doing. And your brakes are not something you’d want to get wrong really.
Exactly that. If it were just a hack bike i would attempt to do it - but a Fazer 1000 is a pretty capable bike - & having survived thus far I wouldn’t mind graduating to the pipe & slippers stage & a V twin. :w00t:
