fitting a 'oregon ATC 3K' camera to a cbr 600 rr

anybody got any ideas how to do this?

does a camera look good facing behind the bike too or not - fairly new to this so not reli too sure!!

Guess it depends what you want to record.

I have a ATC 2K and a Thundercat, so not quite the same setup, my experience might help though.

The camera is very susceptible to vibration, I found fitting it high up on the fairing was a no-no, picture too shaky and the SD card has a tendency to come a bit loose, turning the camera off.

I don’t want the speedo/ rev counter, nor through the screen views in the pic, so mounted it on the side panel above and in front of the left hand indicator. On the 'Cat there is a conveniently positioned fairing screw. Using the bracket that came with the Oxford HotGrips (put insulation tape on the bracket), bolting the ATC base to the wide part of the bracket (where the grip controller should have gone).

Only problem is, I can’t see the camera while riding (not a bad thing really), but it does make it impossible to know if it’s working. I think yours might have a remote control, that probably isn’t a problem.

Rear facing camera shots look great on TV - short, edited, interesting bits. I find I am able to watch far more forward facing scenes than rear facing.

Watch those bumps - it does turn the camera off as stated. Really annoying.
Forward facing was the choice for me, as I could then use as evidence on my commute, should I be knocked off.

Watch the mount though, mine came off and was lost recently (:crying:)

Having a look at the moment for a new one and there seems to be a couple of interesting ones from the states.

Watch this space…
