Fitting a gear indicator

If we have good weather and I have the time I’m planning on fitting gear indicator to the blade. I’ve had a read of the instruction and have had a bit of advice on fitting. But, I’m unsure of where to start looking for the wires to patch into. Will they all be around the instruments and headlight? Will I need to take panels off to get to them?

Any advice on fitting it welcome.

Whilst not familiar with your blade, I have fitted one to my previous old K4 750. The indicator should splice into the main wiring loom that goes into the instruments. On the gixxer, there was just one big loom bundle going into the instruments, so it was a simple case of identifying the wires with the instructions, and splicing into them, then sealing it all back up. It took about 30 mins in total. I only had to take the screen off to get access, but you may or may not need to remove the top fairing on your bike mate!

It’s a simple procedure, just take your time.

David, you can always come to my place a bit earlier on saturday and you, Jay and I can have a go together? We could enjoy the oportunity and write and article about that? this way others won’t need to suffer in future.

Sounds like an idea, I’d appreciate a hand with it.

I’ll have to let you know as I’m getting the KTM sorted Saturday morning and looking at a blade with Jan in the afternoon. I’m not sure what time we’ll be finished.

Hey Guys.

Thought I’d let you know your off the hook on this. I managed to get it fitted on Sunday. It’s not a hard job once you get access to the wire’s. I droped the top fairing to get access to the connection block in the righthand side of the fairing.

See, you didn’t need our help! You were laying the guilt-trip on pretty thick on Saturday night So come on, post up some pictures

I could tell you weren’t really up for it , makes it all the more amusing, for me a least. I’m sure you’ll get the chance to turn the tables.

I was up for it but I got knocked off on sat night so… Sunday was useless to me
