But, considering my motto for life is: ‘all the gear and no idea’ I wanted to get a one piece as i’m planning on doing a couple of trackdays. Looked at the Dainese Monza’s - they are quite pricey though.
Criteria is, in order of importance:
Safety
Not a power ranger type suit (so maybe just black and as plain as possible)
One that can make me go faster than 30mph
Safety!
Would appreciate any input - if you guys have come off wearing anything in particular and it’s done a great job, well that would be a decent thumbs up.
I just went and splurged on a Dainese 2piece from Bikestop in Stevenage. They have a good range there if you want to go and have a look…
But it was one where you could mix and match jackets and trousers… I’ve only ever heard good thing about Dainese plus I like their fit - mine is quite plain but I find their designs discreet enough to make them look good. Well not the one in the ebay advert but that looks like it’s from the 80s when those colours were rather dull
Shop around, find one that fits…If you find something you like but it does not have the zip necessary for trackdays, don’t worry too much as WASP will be able to add one on. By all means have it as one of your criteria but don’t let it stop you from buying leathers you really like
Yep the colours are a little seizure inducing on the other leathers, but they fit pretty well, and I can always force the jacket on my girlfriend if she’s pillion - plus i’m sure it’ll get a big thumbs up if I ever pass through Dalston!
My arc-con race suit is pretty awesome. I was able to get it in a custom colour for no extra cost. I’m not sure if they are still doing such things but speak to Ian and he’ll sort you out. Don’t get a yellow one though as I like being unique.
Hmm… ok new ones arrived, i’m a big fan of them BUT… how tight is too tight? They are brand new, but when I standup, they are pretty tight length of body wise… Guess I won’t be standing up on the bike! But if anyone knows what sort of rule of thumb I should use, i’d appreciate the advice! Thanks, Ed
