OK dont have a go…but ive had a tumble on the ol bike…hit a diesel/petrol patch while out with Sherrie coming home from Amersham on sat…anyway…im fine but bikes fairing on right sides taken a bang, along with the engine casing etc…anyhoo…ive got the casing sorted out, new one coming this week…and ive got the mirror sorted (on its way to M9 for respray to match the other hes only just done for me)
Now, ive had a quote for £310 new parts, but just wanted to see if i can get second hand …mine is the blue/black/silver blade and the 05 model…ive got to get a set of rear indicators too now…but they are ten a penny…and might be able to fix the one on there already…not sure yet…but Abbeyj’s got some she said i can have…(thanks babes!!)
So, if i cant get any joy second hand…i will be sorting the new ones out and slapping it on the ol credit card…(again!!..thought id done my xmas spend already !!) :w00t:
Aint it always the way eh, ive JUST got my bike the way i wanted it again…just got it looking the biz…you know?..was now looking to replace my crap Pirellis for some Bridgestones or Michelins and now this…:w00t: doh !!!
Someone had had a accident and not reported it, me and sherrie had a look after at where they had mounted the kerb, scrapped all along it then the petrol spill, sherrie missed it when we came along that road, but hey ho, my luck i hit it full on and rear wheel just slid like it was on ice…happened so fast i thought i was still on me bike till i looked at the wet road and thought…hold on a min…aint i supposed to be holding some handle bars or something as i was sliding along on me ass…(thankfully its large enough that i ended up without one bruise…hows that for one up for the fat ass brigade eh, see peeps, its ok being a stick insect but when it comes to coming off your bike, it pays to have cushioning) !!! …
Anyway, anyone got ideas…shall i get new or hang on for maybe ebay parts who at the mo hasnt got a damn thing for me…
Try http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ if you are not in a hurry they will send the parts when they get them and it will save you a penny or three. Very helpful staff and everything is OE so no worries about that. I got my parts from them when I had my off last year.
Glad to here you are ok, and the Blade will be looking sweet again in no time I am sure.
Yeh Rich? called them today and got a quote which i may well take up, cos cant wait !! £310 for the middle and lower fairing in my colours…and they will be with me in 2 days…so tomorrow after i get a call from a mate who works at honda dealers, if he cant match or go cheaper on that, i will get them…gotta get my baby back up and running…thing is i wanted that money to get set of bridgestones on it…then its off to B for a full suspension set up that i won on the LB auction …my credit cards gonna take a bashing as well as my bike i think…guts me though cos last year when i wanted middle fairing, i got one off ebay for a tenner and it was spanking new !! guess its the way it goes though aint it…win some lose some…
Blade sorry to hear of your off, have you tried DK motorcycles number is in MCN. they have plenty on second hand parts. You could also try Partfinder they usualy have an add in MCN too
Sorry to hear about the off love…I am a bit pi**ed off at you though…How many times? :(…Change those foooking tyres…Go to FWR…Tell em to take them off and keep them for you…Get some Mich PP 2CTs fitted…Ride home and feel like you’ve bought a new bike…Go back next day and pick up the old rubber…Sell them on ebay.
Tyres should have been the first thing you spent money on, not the last…Don’t mean to preach…But FOOOKING CHANGE YOUR TYRES before you hurt yourself…Ok…breathing again.
I can probably get those parts cheaper for you new if you can wait…I’m making another order with my supplier on Jan 25th…Takes about 2 weeks to arrive.
Let me know…And I’m glad that arse saved you agian
Afro …mate…honest ask sherrie, i was going to get those tyres next week !! i had gone to mike and got the csg levers put on, had my tank sorted out, changed it for another one so the tank cover and fuel cap sits flush now…and ive got braided hoses to go on it mike was sorting out for me, and THEN it was the tyres and then off to B to get the bikes suspension etc set up…and THAT would have been my bike ready…took it out for a run cos i was glad to be out on it since it had been so long…was enjoying a good ol splat with sherrie, and yeh i was aware of my tyres…the road was wet and i hit that petrol so, it was a accident waiting to happen…but honest…i did say to sherrie and M9 i wasnt happy with those bluddy diablos…pirelli crap…still…my bad eh?..Well, i looked on that site for parts as well but they have nothing for my bike…so i bought the panels new from david silver today…they will be with me on thursday…i bought the engine casing yesterday, that will be with me next week…ive bought the mirror that is going to M9 for a respray to match the other side…err what else…oh yeh, i need crash bungs for right side…prob have to buy another set…for front and set for swing arm bobbins…(yeh can honestly say they work chums !!) oh and i need set of indicators for the back…the right one works but its hanging down and dont know for sure yet if i can get it fixed again…prob not…i had the small shiny chrome l.e.d’s so have to look for some more…THEN i will wait before i go on any rides, save up again and get those tyres…some are telling me to go for the bridgestones though? what you think…i know you love the michelins…ha ha…
well i aint kissin that arse better!!!:w00t Why not ??? ;)Well, i was partly to blame for this anyway…i knew i wasnt happy with the back tyre, theres nothing wrong with the tread or anything and yeh at “normal” riding pace ie, straight lines, taking time …theres no problem…but we ARE talking “sherrie” riding here !!! And yeh, i shoulda kept my head and been more aware…wet road, tyre not warmed up enough, petrol spillage, leaves, grit…ah well…another fine lesson to be put down to the experiences of the biking world as you well know…heck…you could write the book on those!!! ;)…im hurting mate…(only in my pocket though…thank goodness)…
Glad you’re ok Blade but to be honest if you crashed on diesel/petrol as you say, it wouldn’t matter what tyres you had on.
I know that piece of road well, especially those roundabouts where you crashed as the one before where you came off is where my son had his bad accident last June. That bit of road HAS to be ridden with respect, there is so much over banding and repairs that you just can’t take the p1ss and ride it beyond capabilities especially in the cold and wet. You wont have a case against the council either as they were not aware of the spillage on the road. Bucks are very quick once notified of anything on that road, they came out within minutes when my son crashed too and covered it in sand.
Word of warning to all of you if you crash there… DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BIKE AT ALL!!!
The 2CTs are my preferred choice of tyres and between myself and Mark and the different bikes we have, we have tried and tested most, but it depends on the bike and use as to choice.
Just glad you’re ok babe and that you managed to sort out your bike pretty quick.
When you get everything sorted (and the bloody weather dries up)…We’ll hit the 9 bends so you can really see how well they perform…That’s my little test track
