Fed up of inaccurate weather reporting!

I checked the met office site last night and it said “Be Prepared” for snow/sleet in London and 10 hours later it says that its going to be nice sunny day.
BBC weather says pretty much the same.
The google weather toolbar seems to say exactly the opposite all the time - so yesterday said it would be wet but not snowing and today it says its going to be snowing … I have just checked - no new snow outside.
Has anyone found a site that is accurate so that I can decide whether it’s biking weather before I open the curtains?

Metcheck.com takes some beating. I find it quite accurate most of the time:)

Thank you.
I’m going to bookmark it!

+1 for metcheck, knocks the other sites mentioned for six!

Remember the last time we had a bit of snow in early December to the surprise of many?

I looked on Metcheck and they said it would snow at 6pm. I told Mrs CM and she said “Don’t be silly”

Sure enough, it was snowing at 6.15pm:w00t::smiley:

lol thats just the uk for ya:P

yup metcheck all the way. It’s used a lot in the pressrooms over those (weather-wise) highly charged and volatile weekends you know as race meetings.

The BBC weather site is a joke. It can change from sun to rain to snow over the course of an hour or so. It seems to be one of the least accurate sites out there. Metcheck is **a lot ** better though.

Maybe gordon brown could use metcheck to see about global warming then the barst##d might stop taxing us on the weather and calling it global warming. or should i say global bolloc#s

Personally I prefer the old way of weather detection. The tried and tested Weather Stone! :stuck_out_tongue:

I just tried MetCheck, and it has apparently been snowing since 15:00. It hasn’t.

At the moment, all I care about is weather the trains run.

Its been snowing here:w00t:

I,m over near Ware and its snowing heavily here now.

yep - snowing in Stevenage - 3 inches in the last hour already…

it’s moving south, hit welwyn garden city about 45 minutes ago

The great thing about on line weather forecasts is that there are so many sources.

It you don’t like the predictions on one site, go somewhere else. Sooner or later you’ll find one that looks good.

I’ll stick with Metcheck. Not 100% perfect but better than the television stuff.

i find metoffice.gov.uk the most accurate, i use it alot for fishing.

a mate has a home weather station, it is also online and is very very accurate.

wet and mild here in london ATM:)

Statistically you are just as likely as the weather forecasts to be right, if you say it will be the same weather today as it was yesterday.

I have one of those bedside clock things that’s also a weather forecaster. It has no outside senders but has been silly accurate over the last year.

How come it’s not just predicting the weather in my bedroom?

I know it’s not because it’s not snowed in there for years and years.
