Hi guys and girls I would like to share my day with you all at tha Ace Cafe today, I went there about 4.30 I was’nt going to go on bike and it p*ssed down all the way there but I am glad I went. I had my zx12r since christmas, but my hubby Ian had hes for three years, hes an 02 mine is 2000, anyway since I got mine he always made a point how hes is faster. I did’nt give a monkeys I let him have his fun.
We went to Ace and he decided to take it on the dino-jet it was 168bhp and 183 top speed, Sonic, Vinnie and everyone egged me on to do mine anyway mine 167bhp and 194 top speed. Guys said it was the fastest bike they had all day and if I would have been here earleir I could of one the coat that was on offer but someone else took home but I beat him.
I cannot stop smiling and I don’t need to say anything to Ian as Sonic and crew was taking the p*ss out the poor sod!!
Nice one Sam, I sure would have liked to stick the gixxer on that Dyno, missed the event though, too much good racing on TV! Fast bike you’ve got there, enjoy it!

Nice one Sam! … that’s one fast beast of a bike! … and I should know … still scares the cr@p out of me I can tell ya! … and I ain’t afraid to admit it!
Joe … long time no post dude! … good to have you back!
Dangerous talk there Joe! The gixxer’s probably 20kg lighter, and putting out a tad more power, though they’re limited to 186, but boy, it’d be fun getting there
Jay, is that dangerous talk or dangerous torque? lol
Sam, your bike was always going to be faster than Ian’s … this is because the 2000 model has no speed limiter on it, so the speed runs out naturally. From 2001 onwards, they are limited to 186mph (300km/h), same as the Gixxers, as Jay mentions. They can be “freed up” by fitting a Muzzy’s Bonneville Box (costs about 60 US Dollars), which fools the ECU into thinking the bike is always below 186mph.
Well thats nothing mine regularly shows 299mph on the clock and my bike records the max speed logged so I think I should get a jacket. Motard mag even took a piccy cos they were so suprised at the massive top end of the SMC of Doom only one problem…
…It usually shows that speed when wheeling it backwards into the garden
