Most places will give you a 30 minute free advice service so get your question written down and make the question simple so they have plenty of time to answer.
Check your car/bike/house/travel insurance policy - sometimes legal cover includes a certain amount of free advice on any subject.
Also if you are a member of a union, staff association or staff club etc, these often have a small amount of free legal advice as a negotiated member benefit.
Finally, check any bank accounts you have - free legal advice is often given away free as part of the package of perks.
Sorry to hear of the poor experience. I have not used one of these services for about 20 years (it was to do with the Kawasaki liquid cooled carb iceing mass recall). My experience then was mixed, although I don’t think the advice was wrong, just the lawyer was not interested in understanding the problem.
