Going over the Sidcup by-pass roundabout last night some plank pulled out infront of me. I would normally let it slide and give a little toot be it a genuine mistake, but this cheese end pulled up at the roundabout. He then looked at me coming round (I was doing 40mph, in the outside lane and indicating to exit the roundabout (the exit after him). He just then pulled out infront of me as slow as anything… he did the classic “il look forward and pretend I didn’t see him”. I then dropped the anchors and just passed his car boot with inches to spare… I saw him looking back un-phased!.. and now is when I acted a bit like a plank.
I spun my bike round and went right upto the side of his car… he looked at me with the “Ohh” look as I then kicked out at his wing mirror while I turned off the roundabout… I didn’t hit the mirror though as my intention wasn’t too kick it off. I just wanted to make a very firm presence known so that he wouldn’t do it again. I do feel like I acted a bit to extreme… but sadly its only when something extreme happens that people seem to take notice these days.
Should have pulled him out and boiled him alive in his own feaces:D
I’ve had similar experiences at roundabouts. It’s as though they think that if they pull out reeeally slowly it makes it ok. My fravourite is to tap the window at the next set of lights and ask if they would have done it if I had been a huge white van. LOL:D:hehe:
It’s an understandable reaction - when your on a bike you’re generally in survival mode - when you come into contact with muppets like the above your brain tends to slip into ‘fight or flight’ mode. In future just count to ten and tell yourself that it’s not worth getting into bother over some four-wheeled muppet
