Extending The Mirrors

I’m really struggling to get my mirrors in a position that allows me to see behind me. Being a big lass, all I see are my arms and to get a view behind me I need to move my arms out of the way first!!!

I think the answer is to extend the length of the mirror arms. Any ideas how/where I do that?

You can buy extenders, but welcome to the world of sports bikes.

I like my elbows too much, so didnt bother getting any extenders.

i dont think im very very big, but i have the same prob on the r6. you gotta move out of the way slightly to see behind you, and tuck your elbows in. its your riding position.

Ride faster, no need to look behind you then!

I just lift my elbows and haev a quick peek

I wouldn’t bother trying to extend the mirrors

So it’s normal then! That’s good to know as I’m sure extending the mirror arms would look a bit weird

You dont extend the actual arms per say, but put spacers between the fairing and the arms giving you about an extra inch only. Not really worth it, just move ya ass to the side.

move your elbows, simple!

It is your riding position tho, most riders normally ride with their elbows out, then again we are not Rossis, but MotoGP riders, ride with all their bits tucked in

I have the same problem on the VFR, you soon get in to the habit of moving elbows and other things whilst riding. It also helps you stay relaxed if you keep things moving around instead of in a locked position

Just try to avoid too much movement - don’t want to look like a hapless breakdancer on your bike

Me Breakdance are you having a laugh.

I was actually thinking of Sherrie

But if you no good at it, then quit it too!

I have to say that I hardly ever rely on my mirrors as I always do lifesavers before I do anything. But yes, all sportbikers have to move their bits out the way to see what’s coming

Thanks guys, I was thinking it was because of my generous proportions

wider mirrors suck for filtering

Do you mean like this

Think I’m gonna get beat up

That is comedy value. It’s worth seeing that on She’s R6 - go on, it’ll be such a laff!

i never have a problem, i have good mirrors! heehee

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the Fairyest Fairest of them all

Get a proper bike…

Alternatively as previously suggested you can get packing spacers for the OE mirrors
