Evening BCR (Poss?) to The EAMG

There’s been a lot of talk, normally after a high profile incident, about Advanced Training and Clubs. I would have to confirm later, but if there’s genuine interest I’d be happy to organise an EVENING RIDOUT to the social night at The Essex Advanced Motorcycle Group Ltd. As I have said before, its the 1st Tues of nearly every month at Channels Golf Club from 7.30pm. Its a good ride out to meet lots of bikers of all types. There’s a very good restaurant and Bar there.:cool:

If anyone wants to go have a lil’look around (is Aug 5th the first Tues of next month?), pls let me know and I’ll see if I can get shore-leave.

Dont forget. Passing an Advanced Test should get you 10% discount on your bike insurance if you The IAM/ROSPA. Discounts on such things as AA/RAC cover, Hotels, Car Hire etc. There is the odd little matter that it could keep you outa A&E too!:wink:

It’s only a 20 minute trip along the A414 for me so I probably won’t join the ride however, I hope we do meet up at one soon. :slight_smile:

I’ve been to the last three but we’re yet to meet up.

Really good initiative! Good man.

I will join a IAM group soon (the bikesafe guy said I should be ready now). As I live in the far south east of London, location isn’t so good for me though, LAM is probably best for me.
But I may be tempted to do an evening BCR though :wink:

For those umming and erring about coming, don’t !! Just give it a chance.I guess there’s a perception that advanced training groups can be a bit pipe and slippers and a load of old wierdy beardies (with all respect to old pipe smoking, hairsuit, slipper wearing members ;))

Thats not the case at all. It’s a great mix of riders and bikes and I’d really encourage anyone interested just to pop along to check it out.

I joined the group and my riding has come on massively…plus it’s a good excuse to get out on the bike. My Mrs has no issues with me going out for “training”. If it was phrased as “a spin around the Essex lanes” I don’t think my pass would be signed so readily :smiley:

I did belong to EAMG, but havent renewed my membership this year due to other commitments and lack of available time.

The training is well worth it, it improved my riding even from the very little training I managed to obtain.

All the riders in this group are great, I personally found it hard to socialise, probably lack of confidence on my part though.

I would re-join when my time is free’er though :smiley:

I will be there!! However, I do a project most Wednesday nights from 9.30 pm til midnight, so Wed is not so good, unless I can leave by 9pm. Like to come though.

Realised I was half asleep - you said TUESDAY not Wednesday. Should be okay for this if I can make it to the location after work in time (I work in Deptford on that day)

Tuesday night girl, and if you leave at 9pm, you’ll not see a pillow until midnight!..Unless you gonna snuggle down at mine!:wink: I’ll ask Mrs McC if she fancies a Hels sandwich! :smiley:

Just realised this is all the way beyond the M25 - in Chelmsford - in the wilds of deepest Essex. By the time i have made it there (and got lost) from Streatham Hill it will be time for bed!! Can’t you have one near the A23 mate?
