Anyone know where I can find a price guide for petrol in European countries (France specifically)?
Cheers.

Might be cheaper to take the Train mate
Not far off mate…
By my calculations…
Running my bike at 27 mpg (before reserve) and doing roughly 1652 miles in France (mostly boring motorway)…I’d pay about £227 in petrol.
This doesn’t include the 150+ miles to get from home to the Eurostar train terminal in Folkestone and back.
That Motorail train is looking more attractive…Would mean I have more time enjoying the place and not spending a couple of days on a motorway.
27MPG!!! Why don’t they go quicker? :P:hehe:
That’s a G and not a H… Mr. !
Ok so it won’t go 200 MPH like yours, but then again 179 is enough and my bike doesn’t beep when I wheel it backwards
 I knew it was a G :hehe: But Terry’s Blade, Colins CBR 6 and mine all got about 40 MPG when we checked 'em in France doing fairly high speed and loaded etc ![]()
Ahhh…Cheers mate.
I was starting to think that my estimations were conservative.
Nick Saunders reckons you get 40 MPG out of an 04 R1 at 90 MPH and 30 at 100 and above.
I’d say he’s right
It was surprising how our three bikes all different sizes, types, ages etc were all so close on MPG too. But mine was two up
yep as soon as you start taking the speed up past 90 ish the fuel guage drops quicker than an Essex girls knickers in Southend on a Saturday night
(so I’m told)
I wish!
hey afro, if you fly on the R1 YOU WILL SEE LESS THAN 27…Mine has done 75 miles once on a full tank… to the reserve light and I had to put in 3 gallons, about 13 litres…I had been doing a few short trips at rather good speeds…but mostly mine sees 110 to 120 on longer trips before the fuel light comes on…so thats about 35-40…
and Busa is so right 90 seems to be the killer point…above that the fuel taps open up and it just squirts it through…bet most of it is just pumped out the engine wasted…

PMSL :laugh:Yes dude, I once saw 65 miles till reserve on my R6 when I somehow took the wrong motorway and was heading to Bristol instead of London, and had to turn around sharpish.I must add that this was a few years back…but unfortunately my sense of direction has not improved so not much has changed
Theres not much difference in fuel prices, only Luxembourg 20p a gallon cheaper.
