That is more than I paid for my last track day.
(Not strictly true, there was some petrol getting there and back).

Yeah, it costs more, but the experience is so, so much better. Everything is more relaxed, the quality of riding is higher, there’s less red flags, there’s no queueing to get out on track, no checking wrist bands, the weather’s nicer, the atmosphere is better, and depending on the circuit, you’re riding on hallowed ground. It’s just all round better, and therefore worth paying for imo.
Also, with three days on track, you get to take it so much easier and build up, so there’s less risk. Being able to sleep after the first day of getting to know the circuit and then coming back with thoughts in your head on how you can improve, and then having lot’s of time to do so is a golden opportunity.
I also got to treat it as a bit of a testing opportunity, trying loads of different suspension settings, which I wouldn’t have been able to do in a single day.
We’ll still do UK trackdays, but yeah, as people suggested, we’re hooked on euros now as well. We’ll make more of the time abroad next time though I think, i.e. pad the trackdays out with time before and after to enjoy the local area and relax a bit more.
how big was your lunch?
Some on-track shots from our time there.
When I was a bit more flush (pre kids) I used to do UK days in the summer “ahem”, and then a few euros from Oct to March, keeps the cobwebs away over winter, get some sun etc etc
Hope you get to do them again sometime mate.
Okay, finally getting round to editing some video. Here’s my one and only moment of the three days. It taught me a lesson, and didn’t cost me anything, so all good…
Yikes. You did well to stay so calm.
The off-roading days out helping out with this.
Last video. Chris from Two Tyres was at Estoril and we had loads of fun on track. He had great corner speed. I hate great cornering difficulties
Phew!
I watched none of that because I spent the whole time wondering what that flashing light was…
