Amazing! in the city my my fuel light comes on around 100 miles 18L tank 4L with the light on. This weekend to brands i covered 120 miles and on fill up this morning it only took a mere 11.23L. This bike is lovely on the motorway me thinks!
You, just riding way to slow as usual!
Its just tricky with a 1000cc to keep the revs up in 1st and be only slightly above to speed limit, thats why I have my 600cc (that helps with the lack of petrol consumption)! :w00t:
Wanna do an endurance race against me? ![]()
fuel light on the tuono comes on at 80 miles! :w00t:
Sure thing Kev i can sustain higher speeds than you and still get good fuel economy so i should have enough time for cheeky petrol stops and then charge up past you again:w00t:
lol, I think I get around 90 before the ‘get your money out’ light comes on.
Fuel light?!? Ha, in my day we had trigonometry and guess work… fuel light… kids these days don’t know how good they’ve got it…
lol - like shaking the old DT125’s, listening to the tank, then humming for a moment, then calculating how far you’ll have to walk if it goes wrong! Oh, and making sure you had 10p to call dad to come and pick you up!
That and looking into very dark tank… cos just looking at the top of the liquid through the tiny hole is a GREAT way to guestimate how far you can get… oooh 3 inches, that’s at least 17 miles worth…
I gets about 110 in the city and 130 on the freeway
thats till reserve, so 14l

Worth all the refills just for the grin factor ![]()
I get about 120 miles then the light comes on.
Had 220 miles on the trip the other week on my 600 bandit filled up 17l leaving 1 in the tank. :D:D:D
normally get 240 to the light, then maybe another 40-50, but the damn light is bright I fill up ASAP

Some of us still don’t have fuel lights or fuel gauges… that’s what the trip-meter is for :hehe:
Miles per tank full? Whats that about?
My old air head BMW took almost 5 gallons, remember those, and then had almost a gallon in reserve. The Aprilia only takes about 12 litres so what a surprise that the light comes on sooner.
I’m the old f*rt and even I’ve got to grips with miles per litre. (Got to love the mixed measurements.)
I get about 10/11 around outer London and then I go for a longish country run around the lanes with a couple of guys and get 8.
The lanes were so much more fun.

The filler on my new bike has an unleaded restictor in the top, you can’t see a bloody thing!
gone are the days of peering in the top and giving it a shake, riding till it spluters its tits off and reaching for the reserve tap!!
