Does anyone else bawl when their visor is up? Some mornings as people cross on green I swear they think I’m having a breakdown.
I even get little salty trails down my face and crusty bits on the padding! (no, not like a pornstar…)

nope i wear shades or clear glasses i don’t have my visor up much any way cos every time i do i always seem to get the biggest bee you have ever seen fly in2 my lid and sting me…
worst thing right now is all the rideouts round the lanes.
its kicked off my hayfever! need to get some decent pills for it! this is second year ive ever had symtoms of it! guess its here to stay now huh?
My eyes water if i go too faster on a pedal bike, so very rarely have the visor open more than the last click to fully closed.
I don’t cry with the visor open, mainly because I’m so hard I use Tobasco Sauce for eyedrops!
Personally , I find it’s easier to keep the visor down and just open the vents if I’m warm!
ah yer that a **** when ur riding and sneeze ahhhh:hehe:
Always keep my visor down, with a slight crack at the bottom to let the air in and stop the thing misting up. Dave often rides with his up though and will get loads of ‘tears’.
…ok gona put this out there… anyone else get the runny nose trickle down to the top lip?? :hehe:
 I hate that!
For me it’s more of a “blush” theme:P when I ride with my visor up and it’s windy it tends to bring tears to my eyes but what’s worse my face gets so dry it makes my cheeks go red and the peeps at the office think I am blushing lol:w00t:
yeah thats minging hate it
I pretty much always ride with my visor open, but only because i’ve always had helmets that mist up as soon as you close them. Plus I do prefer to have it open. I even did a track day last year in the pouring rain with the visor up the whole time, now that stung a bit! :hehe:
i only get tears when i forget my clear visor…cue miles with open visor@60mph…
i NEVER ride with my visor open…i like my sight, i have had few flys/bugs go into my eyes and digging them out is no fun…and i really wouldnt want gravel in my eye.
Haha same here, i tried some herbal tablets that are non-drowsy.
They were shite. ![]()
I’ve got something to put out there aswell…
Ever really really needed to sneese but not had time to put your visor up?
Nasty, not reccomended!
Speak to your GP and try to get some antihystemines, nazal spray and eye drops.
Yeah I get the tears, more in my right eye than my left - on account of a blocked tear duct. However, If I ride with the visor down I feel trapped and claustrophobic. Plus I can’t see sh*t. Which means I don’t enjoy being on the road. But if I wanted comfort, I’d be on a train or in a car.
“If you want soft toilet paper - go to Hotel Gayboy!”
Why moan about about the thing you love doing?
Yep I get the good old tears (oh personal note must wear waterproof mascara when I have days I need to put my face on :D) whilst riding but I do prefer my visor up!! oh and the snotty nose tastes a bit salty :P…
Hayfever: Been a victim for a few years now, but not sufferer. I take one 10 mg Loratdine each morning from about now till September. End of problem. (Sainsbury’s own brand comes in as best buy.)
Visor and tears: You stick unprotected eyes in the wind, they’ll weep. It’s a natural protective process.
Misted visors if closed: Most have a cracked, but not open position. Stops the big bugs. (But the wasp inside can be a bit of a problem if the gap is too big, so be warned.
Alternative: O.K. this may sound a bit ancient, but goggles work well in hot weather. Scott make some m.x. ones to fit with a full face helmet and it’s a brilliant combination for London commuting.
Nothing beats opening the visor and having a good cry.
