Down the embankment yesterday wanted to turn left up to Trafalgar Square - bus ahead stopped at the lights - turned out to be a bendy bus - he was right up to the line - tried to bump it up the kerb - YEAH NO PROBLEM… **** got stuck on the centre stand bar on the edge of the kerbstone and wobbled around like the bus over the cliff in the Italian Job. Thank god i wasn’t carry a load of gold , eventually freed the bike and off with a beemer of a face!

On my first bike, the CBR125RR I had one moment at the bike stop outside Henley (forget its name) after visiting for a rest went out for an hour and returned for something to eat, slowly weaving through the car park, nearly at a stop and pulled the front brake at about 1mph, over she went with me head butting my mates 600RR tank. I got a fit of giggles and could for the life of me get the bike of me through laughing, another biker came to my rescue and on looking back to the cafe, everyone was looking but thankfully not openly laughing…like I was!

I keep going from 1st gear to second, but not making it into second, so I end up revving the lordy! outta the bike in neutral.

Always seems to happen when I am deliberately getting away quickly from the lights - especially when I’m next to other bikes

I’ve had plenty of embarrassing moments, but here are the winners:

#4: Going on a group ride, put on the helmet then realised one of my gloves was still in it. Much to my friend’s entertainment, I was looking out of my visor with a couple of glove fingers poking out.

#3: On a friend’s road trail 250. At a petrol station with some friends, couldn’t get it started. Took me a good 5 minutes to realise it was because I still had the stand down.

#2: Grabbing the front brake of my ZX6r to do a U-Turn. In front of 30-odd people.

#1: A week after I get my 250cc license (VERY wet behind the ears) I hire a CB250 and go for a cruise on my own.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the sun was out and I had the whole day to myself.

I’m about 1.5 hours away in a little country seaside town when I hear someone call my name out. I look and it’s a friend of mine on the side of the road, coincidentally in the same town on the same day.

He gives me a wave, and I wave back.

Due to me waving, and not paying attention to where I’m going, The bike starts to drift to the centre of the road, clips the curb of the median strip, I get mouse-trapped, faceplant a tree, knock myself out and bike lands on foot and breaks it.

This was in a roadworks zone, on a cafe strip, in one of the busiest tourist districts just outside of the city in the middle of Summer. Apparently I had an audience exceeding 100. Yay!

Result:
bike: no damage at all due to bike having a soft landing (me)

me: severe concussion and NO recollection of accident
surgery on foot, 2 inch screw and bone graft inserted to correct joint and three months on crutches
subject of entertainment from my biker mates:
