Just heard this for the first time and this guy has got to be related to Eddie Izzard, he sounds so much like him.This is the infamous "“Woodrooffe Incident” of 20 May 1937, when early BBC broadcaster and former Naval officer Lt. Commander Thomas Woodrooffe did a live broadcast of the Naval review from his old ship, and the onboard hospitality got the better of him :hehe:
It’s very funny, well worth listening to.
Woodrooffe is also famous for saying, whilst commentating at the 1938 FA Cup Final, “if there’s a goal scored now, I’ll eat my hat.” There was, and he did actually eat his hat.
