EC1V - Old street Chavster monkeys!

ello

I had my R6 - 07 nicked last week on Tuesday around lunchtime in front of loads of witnesses on Old Street,ec1v. It was chained (Oxford Hardcore Lock) to the railing, steering lock/alarm/immobilizer but it didnā€™t stop the 4 scallies having away with it. Witnesses say that 2 peds rolled up and 2 guys jumped off with a massive bolt cutter and cut the chain fairly quickly then proceeded to have away with my bike (I assume they probably kicked in the steering lock or something?). There were loads of people at the bus stop watching and a couple reported it to the police while it was happening.

They then towed my bike from one of the other peds and when they passed the group of people at the bus stop they all decided to stick their fingers up at the them but one of the muppets (who had his mate on the back) wasnā€™t looking at the road in front of him and crashed into my bike and fell off the ped! What a penarse!! They then jumped back on and made a right at the end of the road unwittingly heading right into the front bumper of a police car which Iā€™m happy to report broke said chavster monkeys leg and dazed the pillion. The other 2 unfortunately got away on my bike and it was later found in some **** hole covered up. I donā€™t know what the damage is as its still awaiting forensics, Iā€™m sure its going to be a costly repair though!

Here are some detailed pics of the event:

Thankfully they found ur bike! I pass there regularly and i cant believe no one did anything! People in London never wanna get involved with these things :frowning:

Sorry to hear about that-thieving pikey scum.

Your artists representation does lighten the mood though-considered a job sketching people in court?

Mate seriously happy you have still got it, and as they good the scum surely you can claim from them for the damages.

Iā€™m willing to put money on, it was one of the scum I stopped from stealing a KTM jus around the corner about a year ago. Coppers said they had nicked him nearly every week but the CPS will not prosecute.

Well said the only problem is you donā€™t know what they will do to you, Iā€™d rather lose my bike than my life.

moral of the story is oxford chains are sh1te no matter waht they tell you or thatcham. almax.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

Sorry to hear about the bike but those 'shopped pictures are awesome!! :D:D:D:D

Mad art skillz I know lol

Its probably best no one interviend, you never know if they are ā€˜holdingā€™. Brup

I had a tracker on teh bike so they found it about 6 hours later which is pretty good, but in hindsight It woulda probably been better off stolen because Iā€™m going to have a harder time selling a 3 year old bike with 19k miles & stolen recovery on the history.

That lock was so ****! I suppose at the end of the day if someone wants to nick your bike they will!

I work on the corner where it happend, my mate was outside having a fag and saw my bike go passed so he pegged it in the office to tell me. I was suprised to see how many police were outside by the time I went down. The 2 guys were proper pikies around 18-19 and the ped they were on was linked to a number of other bike thiefts in london so they have substantial evidence to put them away.

You think you would be safe, busy street, bus stop, loadsa people aboutā€¦

Thieving scum even had the cheek to stare down witnesses!!!

What hope have we got that this shite may be put off doing this in broad daylight with tons of people around, they act like they are invisible AND they almost got away with it.

Right - thatā€™s it - Iā€™m getting an Almax chain - supposedly uncropable ( obviously if they use an angle grinder Iā€™m fecked - by this performance Iā€™m surprised they didnā€™t invite the police to watch them they were that brazenā€¦

Any thoughts on Almax???

itā€™ll be only stolen recovered if you claimed on the insurance though, is that right people?

+1, sorry about the bike, brilliant pics

Well this is the first time Iā€™ve read a ā€œstolen bikeā€ thread that made me laugh. I am very sorry to hear about your bike being nicked but Iā€™m glad itā€™s been found, and I hope the damage isnā€™t too bad.

Loved the photos  especially the Police Smart car

+1 to everything Eeezy says:D:D

Argh, I bet they let them of with a slapped wrist and a donā€™t get caught again.

Sorry to hear about the bike hope not too badly damaged, lets hope the scumbags leg is really painful.

On the bright side, brill bit of artwork

FYI Almax said even with an angle grinder the chain wil still stand a lot of punishment, I now have 5 and live near old street this may seem a tad excessive but it is only one for each bike. Must stop spending my cass on new bikes soon.

I park my bike in an enclosed courtyard at work, with security, and CCTV and a lot of other people around, in full view of a cafe. I was talking to a bloke today who said a couple of months ago a van drove right into the courtyard and nicked the bikes (including his) - in full view of everyone and the security - and no one did anything!!!

I could not believe that bikes could get nicked from that courtyard, but he said who is going to tackle 4 big blokes in hoodies? I told him I would have done (which I actually have done - a couple of months ago I followed and apprehended three teenagers nicking a vespa in my local area, phoned the police and stood guard over the scooter for 45 minutes whilst the coppers sauntered up the street from Brixton police station). But I just thought - we- the public - allow this to continue through our fear and ambivalence. We see people stealing bikes, in broad daylight, when others are around - and do nothing. These bike thieves donā€™t want to go down for life for murder. They want to nick bikes. If we, the public, actually at least tried to get off our backsides and stop them, I doubt we would be murdered. The thieves are relying on people doing nothing, they rely on people not wanting to get involved, they know people are scared - so they get more audacious and they get away with it.

Glad you got your bike back. The theft might not necessarily be recorded on the bikeā€™s history.

Yeah, great art work

Ta firstlight - makes Almax even better.

5 Chains - 1 bike???:w00t:

Good on yer Hels

Sorry to hear about your loss mate, had mine stolen in March not far from Holborn. Just read this on another forum:

My bike went in the back of a van so it looks like there were at least 2 gangs stealing bikes in the area, nice to see one of them got what he deserves with a broken leg.
