EBike insurance pay n go no claims discount accelerator (8 months)

Hello boys and girls,

I have a dilema. EBike Insurance normal fully comp policy is 400 squids if I pay the 12 month policy in one go, which is fine. The installments option will make 12 monthly payments of approx 40 squids a month - total yearly payment of 480 squids. There is no accelerated no claims discount (NCD) available on this standard policy though.

Dilema is, the Pay-As-You-Go option with same cover etc. is 45 squids a month - this includes an 8 month accelerated NCD discount. So assuming I have no claims in 8 months, I will be credited with an additional 1 years NCD. Total yearly payment is not much more.

My question is, do you all think I am better to go for the pay as you go option to get an additional NCD early?

Thanks once again, and see you all soon hopefully - will organise a rideout soon.

Wooohooooo weather getting warmer… ooooh track days here we come…

I went with their PAYG policy as it ment i did not have to shell out all the money in one go. Also i can change the policy every month if i like and am not tied into any type of contract.
1 thing was that was a major moving point for me going for the PAYG instead of the 12m policy was that i dont have a BikeSafe course done yet but when i do it will bring my insurance down by at least 10% over the policy. With the PAYG i can change the policy for the next month when i do get the course done.
Also i might get a second bike later in the year, its much easier to do it with the PAYG policy.
I like their ‘Ride a Mates’ bike addon. You can ride someone elses bike with the same cover as your bike. You log on and pay the extra for the time you want to ride and you are covered. For me that would be FC.

I guess my main question is, is it worth spending an extra 50 quid or so for an 8 months accelerated NCD (assuming I don’t have a claim of course)?

difficult one, I done the same thing with my car except over 10 months to get that extra discount next time around. Still not sure it was the best thing to do.

some help eh? LOL
