Had the kawasaki version no fancy graphics pretty plain ones . They are okay but usually require some jiggling and adaption to get them to fit nicely . If you accept that them you will get on fine
what version of GSXR fairings are you after? I got some k4/k5 600/750 ones in black
I have seen some for a gsxr k8 i like
No personal experience but I’ve heard they’re not as good as OEM. Finish is less durable and plastic brittle. You get what you pay for, get some but keep your old ones…?
Helped fit 2 aftermarket fairings. 1 for a 2007 650 cc bandit (ABS model) and, some years back, a 900 cc BMW airhead.
Both good product and good value but both had been checked out by the owners prior to purchase.
On both, the fits were pretty good but could have been better. Improved by a bit of fettling after the first trial fit. Brackets and fastening were where some of the cost savings had been made and in both cases the supplied fastening were changed for s.s. ones and a couple of the supplied “B.M.W.” brackets were binned and new ones made.
Neither came with an instruction book worth a light. Both turned out looking pretty good though the colour match was a bit not quite spot on.
By comparison:
I bought an original equipment fairing kit (RS type) from BMW, at huge cost, back in the late 70’s. Blinking fantastic. Instruction book alone was worth money. Oozed quality and a real gem. Except! The new fairing required to change the bars (supplied), the fork spring (supplied), the fork damping (not supplied but low cost) and the switches, not supplied. Switches available under a part number (given) at £100+ each. That’s £100 in 1979/80. Guess what that’s worth now?
In all 3 cases, part of the job was a 2 person operation.
So: Conclusion? Choose carefully. Check out a finished project before buying. Be prepared for some additional costs.
If you do not have someone to help you … Masking tape is your friend
Seen them on a K6 GSXR 1000.
Good quality and better paint quality than originals in places.
They aren’t identical…Small differences to avoid copyright infringement with the bike manufacturers.
