A 150 mile tour of Essex to include The Ace Café’s Southend Shakedown Event avoiding the A406, A12, A127 and all of the bike jambs :wink:

A moderate paced, non-motorway ride employing the corner man system as required, explanatory thread here. Check your top boxes, tyres, oils, drive chains, number plates, rectifiers and fuses. Arrive on a roadworthy bike with a full tank of fuel and an empty bladder. Have with you sufficient funds to cover the costs of fuel and nibbles for the day. No Harleys, knobbers, boy racers, girl racers, white line overtakers or late brakers. No motorway excursions. No cats, dogs, sheep, horses, pidgeons or cyclists. Yes, but avoiding all the expected chaos and bike jambs on the A406, A12 and A127. The itinerary as it is involves just 13 miles of the A13 to get us out of Southend :wink:

But, but but but what about being together with these thousands of bikes, for me “the young* one” it is fun!

I sense “F” road with loot of potholes and water crossings :stuck_out_tongue:

A13 to SE is very nice on bike from Rainham all the way.

Bump - The 5-day weather forecast is looking good :slight_smile:

A dry sunny day it seems. OK the sun will probably be hiding behind cloud cover for the best part of the day. Not so warm as to be removing liners but certainly the base layers can stay in the bottom drawer and waterproofs will not be required.

I’ll get out on the bike tomorrow and see if it’s possible to survive, if I don’t die, I’ll join you on Monday :slight_smile:
