I was at the gadget show at Excel a little while ago. I found an awesome pair of shure earphones which fitted snugly in my ear and had a great little device which was a PTL facility so if someone was talking, I switched a button on the lead and the music switched off.
However, the price tag is £225 and however, I try to justify it I really cant. So does anyone else have any recommendations ?
Try the Shure SE110s (about £80). You could also try the Sennheiser CX300s (around £30). Neither of these actively cancel noise, but they do offer a decent amount of attenuation.
I’m having a pair of custom 'phones made. They’re £150, but are amazing, apparently. I’ll report back once I have them early next week.
Ones i use have the option of letting you take the earphone out if someone is talking!
I could never justify spending that amount on headphones, each to their own tho.
If you are going to spend that much you may aswell get ultimate ear headphones. They make those from an impression of your year so they should be very comfortable.
Im looking for a pair that will fit nicely in my ear so when I put my helmet on, they wont push too hard into my ears. Just like the Shure’s but without the price tag !!!
I had the Shure’s but they packed up. I now use Etymotic ER6i earplugs and they are better and cheaper. No inline PTL though, but I’m sure you can get one of those seperately.
I would never use Ultimateear again. They lasted about 6 months before one side packed up. Another month or two and the wires began to break. Eventually got them replaced after a struggle with some pretty bad customer service. Same thing happened to the second pair. Couldn’t be bothered with the hassle again, so gave up. £135 down the drain. They wear away after a while anyway and lose their seal. And the sound quality of the monitors is poor (when it works). Utter sh*te.Save your money and buy the ER6i’s.
